Well, really, I'd like it to be a surprise, but if I had to choose, I'd say Sleezy Sunday {The Morning After Mix}. I think that it's a great song and very underrated. That or Sleezy Sunday, but that's a bit more repetitious.
That was sent in to SiU, but the chart wasnt that great. I might try it later myself, but I really dont want to get in the habit of stepping people's failed submissions
But I have to agree with you KgZ, I kind of miss the old orange FFR days, where SGX was my favorite FFR artist with Contradistinction and Soul Shift. Now none of the songs themselves are too memorable for me because there's such a massive amount. Not that I don't appreciate the work all the stepfilers put in for this, but you know what I mean.
But who else could be considered in-house...wickedawesomeful? He was really active for a while but I don't think I've seen him post in a long time.
think of the rapper or baller who lived in the hood all their lives... when they go platinum or become a first round draft pick... they have to give up some of those roots and move forward. possibly not the best analogy, but i think it's somewhat accurate.
I think this is a bad attitude. I mean, in that case, you would have no problem if Synth decided to sell FFR to Google for a 100 million bucks and every single person on this forum, admin or not, lost everything they've put into the site over the years? I mean if that's what it takes to "move forward".
A real balla brings dere roots wit em. FFR might not need us anymore, and that's ok, but I sure as hell need FFR.
pyroshock, i just wanted to say that i havent forgot about you and actually stepped dreaming
and also, obviously tass hasnt seen the commercial about a NFL player who talks about coming from "nowhere" aka 'the hood/their roots'. It goes on to say in the commercial that he really did come from somewhere and it made him who he is today.
kinda like ffr. without all the old artists and steppers and people, ffr wouldnt be where it is today. sorta like if i never started to push rock and started getting rock permissions... certain things would never have happened. but i dont like to boast or brag.
It's also hard to argue that FFR's roots don't have quality in its music. I've had many, many friends tell me that Jewpin's music could "easily rival Postal Service". The same could be said for Spook. Our music might be a little different, but I think FFR has always tried to do with music what DDR or Beatmania did for music, and that was show the world how limitless it can be.
Oh, I haven't declined any additions. In fact, I have a bunch of songs which I think would be great in the game. I'm just waiting until the end of finals to get the ball rolling.
If you read the end of my analogy... it wasn't meant to be perfect. Just close. If you take it loosely, you see that it's accurate, but there are fine cracks in it if you look close.
We certainly aren't shying away from the old-school FFR guys. They just don't have head-of-the-class priority over other songs/files. Any simfile author can step your songs and get them into the queue. They'll be handled like every other file.
Now. Perhaps if we organized a special mini-event type thing specifically for the in-house guys, that would be a decent idea. Something like 1 (maybe 2?) new songs/charts for 5-10 of the older respected in-house FFR guys. Would take some effort and work and organization, but I won't stop someone from doing it, and would gladly support it.
I think the thing is that there is so much music to pick from, the in-house guys get lost in everything else. Or when something of theirs gets picked to be stepped, it isn't always that good so it doesn't make the queue, or if it makes the queue, it's still 1 file out of 100 and who knows when it'll be added.
If I had the equipment, I would definitely be providing music. After many failed attempts, I don't think I can bring myself to using just a program, but, then again, with all the quality music being made with a program like FL, maybe I can give it a shot again.

My brother made a decent song using the demo tp FL7, Nes (That Warpzone that's in SiU) He did it without any knoweldge of music thoery.
*ON TOPIC*
I compleatly agree with sleepless, so there isnt really a point repeating her(him?). I will say that alot of awesome songs never get in over how bad they are stepped.
I would love to see a event were people like Hi19, Jx, Rebirth, Dore, Drugstore, Stargroup, and BzT stepped newer songs by all the older artist. I have no idea how I could help with that, but I'll be willing to. The in-house guys made FFR, rather we want to admit it or not.
I don't understand why nobody wants to bother attempting to make better files for these "awesome songs" if a bad stepchart doesn't make it in the game. If the songs are so good, they should be shared with the community. Giving up that quickly is just wasteful. Am I right?
