Okay, let me explain this to you.

Teams are about competition. In a game like FFR or SM, you can't have group competition. It's an individual game, and no strategy is involved. Since there is no competition on a group level, then your team has no purpose. This is something more like a club, not a team.

It doesn't matter if another team emerges. How are you going to incorperate teamplay in a game like this? Have the average score of one team vs. the average score of another team on a specific song? Or take the collective score vs the other team's collective score? Those methods of play are retarded. That isn't even teamplay. It's just taking a group of scores and averaging them to see which group scores the best. There's no way to incorperate teamplay in a game like this.
