Yes I am I was just trying to play 2 handed for a long time, this is just my 1 handed method.

edit: Moogy, ones trash is a treasure to another.

another edit: This belongs in the n00b forum, I posted it here on mistake, as this guide is more for noobs than it is for advanced people.

third edit: Meaning someone move it there already lol.

        No you are not.

I saw your score to Sweet Discovery standard in another topic. You got a C. Those steps are piss easy.

It looks like there's still a bit of confusion in the first section or few. Your table of contents lists the preparation and work on the left key as separate sections, but it looks like they're currently both in one. That's OK, but then the TOC should change. Either that or split the prep and left key work like the TOC has. And the arrow problem isn't totally fixed at the moment -- section one has "Right [<-] key". If this is the left key section, "Right" needs to become "Left".

This general method could be used with any finger positions if that's what some of you were concerned with. It's a very simple, break it down into pieces, learning routine. When I learned piano I would often separate things, learn one hand's part first, then the other, then put them together. Arch0wl is of course right, this isn't piano, but the concept is very similar -- press keys at the right time as a stream of arrows/notes comes at you. If you're having trouble seeing everything at once, and it's not easy when you're working your way up the levels, breaking it down like this may help. With practice, you'll get better at seeing everything at once and won't have to break things down anymore. No, of course you don't have to follow this method. It's just a suggestion in detail. But if you're having trouble going all out on all the arrows on hard songs, what harm is there in trying something like this, breaking it down so you only work on say two arrows first, then the other two, then as you get the hang of them, putting them together?

Essentially retired now, but still ranked on the list of FFR's Top One Handers.

You uh, didn't include EVERYTHING. This should probably be retitled to something more realistic like "Guide to ToshX's method, FAQs and such included"

                  What the fuck is this?
ToshX, does Moogy have it out for you or something?

Anywayz, since you got so many opinions, I thought I'd try it out to see. After about 2 hours of your method, I was far better going one handed. While I'm gonna stick to my 2 handed method, I'm betting that this is probably one of the most effective ways to play 1 handed. The only thing I couldn't really get was where you have fast streams of notes. My up/down simply couldn't keep up in the more difficult songs. Maybe this is just something you'd need to practice at, but I'm too lazy. Is there a way you could incorparate the pinky...?

                  Also, a few suggestions:
-organize the FAQ with some spaces / numbers
-add references to songs that will be effective for that particular lesson... preferably for FFR songs, since not everyone has SM or DWI
                  - you spelled suggestions wrong in the last paragraph

Its really just a matter of making your middle finger faster and stronger. Eventually you can trill between up and down with just the middle finger. If the patterns are set up right you can sometimes hit down with your index finger, but thats not something you can count on being able to do in hard songs.

Uh... You have to use your index and middle on harder songs. I can hit like maybe 150 bpm 8282 16th trills with just my middle finger but I can do up to like 220 bpm 8282828282828282828 16ths with my middle and index.

That's why I prefer 2 hands Moogy, I'm much more effective with 2 hands. That's pretty much the reason I switched to 2, was because my up/down couldn't keep up with 1.
