he is technically right. i dont want you guys to be able to whore similar scores on tiebreakers. thats the purpose of them

whoring similar scores on tiebreakers? i don't understand. tiebreakers are supposed to be songs that are hard to tie on in the first place. (like guru's) giving 7 days for a tiebreaker isn't supposed to make the scores much closer than if you gave 1 day for it.

more time reduces the chances of the tournament being determined by how busy your schedule is. (or lack thereof) i understand that everyone would have to be present on the last day, regardless, to submit a score, but at least the week before that would allow for enough time for every single person to play it thoroughly.

first off, why can tiebreaker scores not be submitted until the tiebreaker day? That makes no sense, and that's not how it was done in the past (at least I don't remember it that way although I'm not positive). They were submitted as soon as they were necessary, and you could get them any time during the week.

Secondly, ledwix is right. It's about a song difficult enough that it's hard to tie on in the first place, no matter how much whoring there is. And isn't the whole tournament about how well you can whore a song, basically? It's all about how much you can improve yourself and your scores on a given song.

I doubt the tiebreaker will be avoided in advanced this round. There are like these 2 areas it could land on, being 1 good or 2 goods, where anywhere in either of those would mean a tiebreaker, and only this time little canal between them where the no tiebreaker ship can sail. I vote for full week tiebreakers, as they should be hard enough that people won't tie even if they whore them. I bet it's more likely that people would tie by nonsubmission in the 1 day way than by tying in the 7 day method given the song is at least reasonable difficulty.

To answer this, I don't know how shash kept track of it all, but I wouldnt be able to keep track of all the tiebreaker submissions everywhere during the regular submission days. They would all be all over the thread, hiding in one of my thousands of PMs etc. Regardless of if I give 7 day tiebeakers or not, they won't be allowed to be submitted until the tiebreaker day.

Edit: Just for the record, I AM NOT SHASH (unfortunately). Just because Shash did certain things doesnt mean I have to. This isn't Shash's tournament. I don't want to do things that I feel will cause me to make mistakes. Even Tass agrees that I should run this however I feel makes me the most comfortable.

Ok I just read all these past few posts about tiebreakers. I Just wanted to ask so I can have a heads-up; Do players in the Advance division need to play tiebreakers if they have 2 goods [I.E. me????] Help please.

There is no sure answer at the moment. Right now anyone with 3 goods needs to play a tiebreaker, but that could change if more people submit.
