Obviously you didn't know I have been in an orchestra half my life, so I know a bunch of pieces that don't have BPM changes. The Brandenburg Concertos by Bach is just one of them, and they are fun :3 especially the first movement of the third concerto.

There is a difference between the sheet with the notes on it having no indicated bpm changes and performers/conductors who are not perfectly consistent throughout an entire piece or who are liberal with their rubato. Even if there are no written tempo changes the performance will likely have 239483724. Rock music is more likely than classical to have a constant bpm, because they're more likely to record with a metronome

Then the best thing would be a mp3 converted from a midi. The bpm's would be constant because the computer plays it perfectly.

Yeah, but even if you have a good midi, it will still sound like crap. Rubato is integral in pretty much all classical music, if you eliminate that, it makes supremely lousy music. Static bpm makes my head hurt.

Syncing is not difficult at all, just use ddream.

Also, Devonin, the "composer playing his own music" bit won't be applicable for another 20 years or so. Earliest examples of that are Bartok or Rach, and neither of them died until the 40's, so they aren't in public domain yet.

If you want some more mid-difficulty files, step some more Mozart/Bach/Beethoven. Bach Solo violin sonatas/partitas would be great for that. Or some Chopin Preludes/Mazurkas/nocturnes. Or Brahms. Or Mendelssohn's songs w/o words. Or any of the HUGE repertoire of Schumann/Schubert lieder. There's also plenty of less-mainstream stuff that would be good to step, but usually recognition=good. I have a tremendous library of classical music at my college, I can get anyone performances of pretty much anything they'd like. Shoot me a PM or IM me.

I have it all sorted by date. It seems like anything prior to 1900 would be public domain, but who knows.

You can use my classical song, (already have blanket permission) But it's probably not some of the best you will find. But adding more classical songs would be pretty awesome, It's my favorite genre as well.

I wouldn't mind Classical music on FFR. But, since FFR is mainly dancey type tunes, I'm not reallys eeing Classical. Don't get me wrong, Classical is one of the best types of music I've ever heard.

As for our policy about the permission of classical music (especially songs composed in 1923 or before), we still need permission from the performer, or MIDI/synthesized music creator.

In terms of legitimacy, probably we even have to remove Rondo/MW/Caprice/Revo/FOTBB/etc, but not doing that right now unless we actually get claims from performers (I'm not even sure who they are except for caprice) of these songs about permissions.

finding out who creates midis is a pain when you didnt get the midi from an original source though ffffffffff. getting permission from original composers if its live shouldnt be asll that hard.

how's that upload btw izzy? once thats done i wouldnt mind contacting composers to get permission for stuff
