My stance @ topic: give what the people wants - whatever it is that would attract the masses to FFR or give the site more recognition. Tay Zonday would probably be a hit to the run-of-the-mill or passerby players who play FFR just for kicks, since Tay's proved himself to be a [freak] success. While personally I think most steps for Chocolate Rain would bore me to death (and other seasoned critics would likely agree), others would love it just for the novelty of having the song in the game. If you publicly made a poll on the front page of this site, I'd bet it would get a lot of responses from members, and even more views from people who aren't a member of FFR yet - just having the song in the game might be enticing.

Well we have Rick Roll, She Bangs, and DotA on FFR, so hopefully Tass approves this. I will personally do sexual favors for him if required.

This is a very biased argument, but regardless of bias, the song shouldn't be automatically denied to be set up on FFR just because the person who decides to put them in doesn't like the song.

Not a huge fan of the Zonday but I'd love to see one of his songs in FFR anyway.

Why must you be such a ****ing asshole, Tass? Ever consider that people LIKE meme songs, find them funny aside from any musical value the songs has? I mean, there are plenty of other songs like that, where people don't remember them because they are necessarily a good song, but because there are happy memories associated with them.

The very idea that one person can control what kind of music is acceptable for FFR and what is not is quite frankly worrisome. I thought we were supposed to embrace alternative music and independent artists, but if a song is too "silly", "extreme", or "alternative", then it can be rejected without any review from the community as a whole. Of course, there are three judges that screen the files and pass them to Tass, each one of which probably has their own bias and tastes in music. This doesn't just apply to this song, it applies to all songs submitted for review.

If "She Bangs" by William Hung is allowed to be in FFR, why not this?

some things are funny. some aren't. some things are funny for a while, then aren't anymore. then other groups of some things are funny for a bit, but too much of them makes all of them not funny.

beyond all that. in this specific instance... it's all moot, as nobody has stepped it. but my feelings on the matter are, and have been, well known.
