Too bad I still can't even come close on the whirlers/halberdiers... mobile or not.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!

yes, i'm aware of that thread... it's where i got my basic strategy. then i tweaked some of it, although i used a lot of it.

This guide is for the impossible badge on Warlords: Heroes. I can't take 100% credit for the strategy, as I took some of the strategies discussed on the Kongregate forums. I did modify some a bit, and I'll explain them all in my own words. I'll also include a video to show the strategy in all of its glory.

First off, this strategy is for beating all 13 gladiators while using Toldor, the Orc. Others have used the Prince, but I like the range that Toldor gives.

Next, take note that there is a specific order that the gladiators appear in, just that the 1st one that appears is random. Also, each successive gladiator will have more health than the previous one, so some gladiators that are easy as the 1st or 2nd one will be insanely hard as the 12th or 13th.

IMO, there are only 3 gladiators that can kill you as Toldor, out of 13. This probably will not be the case at the start, as it does take some practice to get some of the strategies down. The short swordsman with a shield and the stationary whirler are BY FAR the 2 hardest gladiators for Toldor, and the Spearmaster is challenging if he's faced 10th or later.

The order:
short swordsman w/ shield
dual short swordsman
archer
sorcerer
stationary whirler
mobile halbardier
long swordsman w/o shield
long swordsman w/o shield
stationary spearman
mobile whirler
spearmaster
flailman
long swordsman w/ shield

The above order is my recommendation for starting, as it allows you to face the 2 hardest gladiators as 1st and 5th. You can also try starting with the long swordsman w/ shield or the flailman, but it will make the stationary whirler and spearmaster harder.

Short Swordsman w/ Shield
This guy is a clone of the Prince, so he has all of the Prince's special abilities, including the shield blocks and whatnot. My strategy is to backup then stop and swing, then immediately back up and attack a few times, then repeat. You'll get hit, but you should deal more damage than you take, and you'll prevent some of his advancing attacks with your retreating attacks. This strategy only works when the short swordsman w/ shield is an early gladiator. You'll get owned hardcore if you try this vs this gladiator when he is #7+. As stated... best bet is to keep restarting your game until you face this guy 1st or 2nd.

dual short swordsman
This guy is cake. Just walk backwards and retreat attack. He's faster than you, so he'll keep walking into your attacks. You can also stop and do a normal attack when he gets out of range to speed things up.

Archer
Hold block the entire time during this fight! Creep forward in between arrows, then when your sword is close to the archer's bow, swing (in between arrows, of course). Repeat. It's a bit boring and slow, but a lot of these are.

Sorcerer
Hold block the entire time during this fight! Don't move. When the sorcerer comes into range, attack in between his balls of energy. Make sure to pay attention to the balls he fires upwards... you can block them, but not while attacking. So don't attack if you're about to be hit by 3 falling energy balls.

Stationary Whirler
The other very very hard gladiator. Again, hold block the entire time during this fight! When he's in range, he'll do 3 different attacks at random. A spin attack, a thrust, and an up-thrust where the blade will face towards the sky. The up-thrust is the slowest attack, so try to do all of your stuff directly following one. You'll have to inch forward after up-thrusts, then kick when in kicking range, then attack. Repeat. This is a very slow and tedious fight, but being overly aggressive will only result in your death.

Mobile Halbardier
Hold block the entire time during this fight! This guy will walk back and forth, swing at you, and occasionally kick you. That's ok. When he walks past you, so that his back is facing you, kick him in the back. Then swing. Then repeat.

Long Swordsman w/o Shield
Hold block the entire time during this fight! The long swordsman is basically a close of Toldor (at least, one of the 2 is). He'll do 2 basic attacks, a side slash and a downward slash. The downward slash is slower. Every time he downward slashes, counter slash. Repeat. You don't have to move.

Long Swordsman w/o Shield
Same as above.

Stationary Spearman
Hold block the entire time during this fight! This guy is similar to the stationary whirler, but much easier. He hits less frequently when you move AND for less damage. Plus, he only has 2 attacks, and they're not random. When in range, he'll thrust at your chest, then thrust upward. The 2nd move is slower, so try and take your actions after the upper thrust. When in-range, creep forward until you can kick. Then kick. Then attack. If out of range, he'll lunge in and attack. Wait for him to do his attack, then kick, then attack. You should still be in range to kick again. Try and get out of range as much as possible, as it's faster. All in all, this guy sounds complicated, but he deals so little damage, it shouldn't be hard. Just don't get overly aggressive while in range of his spear.

Mobile Whirler
Use the exact same strategy as used on the Mobile Halbardier.

Spearmaster
The spearmaster is tricky, especially late. If you try the spearmaster early, the strategy is simple... swing when he is out of range, then immediately walk backwards. Stop and swing again, and repeat. Unfortunately, this doesn't work when he has a ton of health. So you'll have to use that strategy AND a 2nd strategy. When he's out of range, use the above slash and run away strategy. When he lunges forward or kicks you to get close, get VERY aggressive. Kick and kick and kick until you connect, then attack, then repeat. You should do more damage then him the 1st time or two that you do this. You'll want to balance the 2 strategies depending on whether he is in or out of range. It takes practice.

Failman
The easiest guy there is. Jump forward so that you land on top of him. Then attack repeatedly. He can't hit anything that close to him, so just stand there and wail on him. You won't get hit.

Long Swordsman w/ Shield
The 2nd easiest guy there is. Swing at him when he just gets into your range and then back up. Repeat. You shouldn't get hit at all, or very very minimally.

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!

stationary whirlers are by far the hardest, with short swordsmen as 2nd. there is very little luck involved with the stationary whirler, while there is some luck in the short swordsman and the spearman... just practice the whirler and have patience when fighting him.

but, definitely try to start with the short swordsman, it's the easiest path to ImpBadge glory.

also, is it wrong that i enjoy watching my own videos repeatedly? i love the music i use.

Yes, very wrong.
Also I don't like the games they've been choosing for badges/cards for example ColourPod2 and Loops of Zen are no fun for me, Get Card and move on type of games :/

i like loops of zen. i've played it a bunch, even after beating level 50. the sad part is i keep playing it in my head.

colourpod 2... it's a good game, i'm just not a huge fan of it. it's also really frickin' long and the imp badge is really frickin' hard. got 12 missions, but still haven't beaten level 12. made it all the way to level 11 without getting hit once, yet still can't beat level 12.

Same here...it gets annoying after a while, though.

I'm hoping for a Zen sequel that has a bit more substance (or at least less monotony).
