First Posted on: September 29, 2016, at 11:29:20pm Hey! So this is my first random thought, kinda figuring all this out still! basically I've been a member for a few years but only recently really got started using the new engine (because back then it was laggy for me) then I lurked your profiles and tried out a faster speed so realized my plateau of fc/aaa wasn't impossible ! sadly I got to a point I was fcing up to around 40ish (I don't think anyone should use the word fcing that looks wrong, fc-ing ... defenitely random thought) so it was really hard to do speed 2.0 first but quickly became easy. I dunno how that nice fellow I saw on the daily list does 2.9 or maybe I just made that up. BUT try it out guys. (random thought, checking to see if I closed all parentheses and spelld parentheses correctly) okay so my first MAJOR divine blessing was switching from arrow keys to DFJK (natural home row index and middle finger keys) that was years ago but guesssss whatttttt. IT DOESN"T WORK CAuse on my keyboard you can't press three of those keys at once and I was so stupid who knows how many games I played wondering why I couldn't hit triple arrows like an idiot. then I saw that each keyboard is built differently and you can only press multiple keys at once in different places (so like now I use z, x, m, < keys - taht story is down lower). This is called keyboard ghosting and here's a great link to test your own keyboard for every key combo that works. (or search "Keyboard Ghosting" and click first link in a search engine) https://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/antighostingexplained.mspx so then I switched to m, <, >, / keys which was fantastic! but my right thumb is kinda cramped in that position and I'm in the process of painting a bedroom my hand was dead and and squished and sharp pains from FFR so I may actually have to stop playing a couple days so even though I like having the keys all next to each other and my brain likes how the middle notes are right next to each other, I've now switched my keys apart to very (so far) comfortable positions that still work on the keyboard ghosting link up there. so now my left first and middle fingers are using Z and X and my right fingers have to use M and < (still very comfortable with pinky on shift key and both thumbs on spacebar) I find that this actually HELPS me hit every not even better (even though my brain really wants my index fingers right next to each other but it's just struggling cause it looooves the relaxed separate feeling even better) anyways this just means I need to practice more. my hand which can usually type 132 words per minute is at about 1/3 speed right now so I'll go rest. Thanks for friend adds and enjoy your visit! leave a comment if you want and c-u-l8rs! |
