oh, and protools 9, which comes out soon, will run without the m powered hardware :P

that means you need to buy hardware, and have it connected for protools to run. I have it, and so i have an mbox pro2 (i don tthink they make those anymore) but i have to have that connected all the time if i want to run protools
they might have a microbox type thing (these are made by the company digidesign) but check them out
