-is now a high school graduate- Posted on: May 14, 2014, at 02:21:39am of sorts. Anyway, I need to kill some time, so here's me being a total assdick about my fantastic graduation ceremony. (By fantastic, I mean it sucked balls. See? I warned you.) I hate the whole thing anyway, don't like school and shit, not even happy about the whole graduation thing (doesn't help that everyone keeps asking me about it either, idk why they think that's a good idea other than the fact that they obviously suck at talking). But whatever. Starts off with the fact that my hat doesn't even fit correctly--unfortunately that fiasco didn't really start until it was too late to correct. (Btw you guys haven't seen pictures of me yet... my hair's fuckin' psycho, man.) So that quickly becomes a problem, I'm walking around trying to keep my cap from falling every 3 steps. Plus I don't have any friends so I don't have any comfort on hand. Hooray. Okay, anyway, finally the actual thing starts. Blah blah blah, just a bunch of talking and singing or something, then come the actual speeches. Oh fuck, the speeches. I might've risked failing English 12 this year, but I probably could've spent two minutes on two speeches and still done better than what was given. The first up is the Pep Club President, and he sucks total ass at public speaking. Idk if his actual speech was good or not, because I'm too busy noticing the excruciatingly monotonous and scripted voice he's using (imagine that with a nasally gay guy accent, that's exactly how he sounded) while thinking "WHO THE FUCK VOTED FOR THIS GUY???" It was also funny because his college minor is apparently marketing or something, as noted by the principal beforehand. Idk I didn't like this ceremony anyway. The second speech was from... I have no idea, I don't know many of these people >.> She used a much more genuine tone, at least, but she basically gave every single graduation speech ever given. "Well, here we are! It's been four long years! I still remember walking into this brick building four years ago, feeling absolutely nervous, thinking this day would never come!" At some point I stopped paying attention. I was really tired and doing my best not to fall asleep. Plus it was kinda cold. (But not painfully cold, y'know?) There was actually a third speech. Every year, the administration brings in some alumni dude and he talks about whatever. This guy was actually a silver medalist in the Olympics for pole vaulting, I think. So he actually seems like someone to give a shit about. His speeches were pretty decent. He was telling some high school stories relating to perseverance or something; but the problem is that he talked for probably TEN FUCKING MINUTES. Might not seem too long in hindsight, but when it's 50 degrees outside, you've already heard an hour of nonsense, and the graduating class is close to 400 names, you kinda want shit to move on. After that, names finally get called. Blah blah. The cheers are usually the best part; there's always a few people that shout things across the yard that everyone can here. Some dude even brought a bullhorn. All of the sudden, we hear some canned voice say "Nice job, Taylor." from the west side of the field. The canned voice also didn't hesitate to use the bullhorn's siren a couple times. I noted earlier that my cap and I were disagreeing with each other. I get across the stage alright, and then I feel the whole thing slip off by the end--at which point I still need to shake hands with two strangers and get my fourth or fifth picture taken. I think said picture is the official graduation picture; if I get it, I'll share it, and you can see me awkwardly smiling, with one hand holding my cap on the top of my head. Sooo yeah. I later went to a friend's house and watched The Boondocks for an hour or two (old episodes on Netflix, not the new stuff. I hear it's not that great anyway), and then I go home with 12 Taco Bell tacos--I'm killing time because I'm really tired but just ate 9 of them so I don't think sleeping is the best idea at the moment. Even if they'll completely kill me in the end. btw, revamping my profile in a day or two, then i'm gonna be gone completely for a little. |
