I honestly don't feel like I am getting any better at this game. I've been playing like a madman for the past month, and I can't even beat some scores that I set several months ago (such as lawn wake I (that tier point seems like it will forever remain outside of my grasp)). This is starting to get very frustrating.

You are a great player nonetheless amd your doing the best you possibly can in the tourney. I'd say at your pace you'll probably be one of the best players out there. try focusing on the jumps more and whore all the faster paced songs up. That will hopefully alleviate the songs that were once hard for ya.

I agree with Godnick. It's annoying to play the harder up songs that your not really good at, but playing them will eventually get you used to them before you know it. Then move back down to the ones your trying to do now, and youll beat them easily.

Dude, I have some scores from 2008 I still can't beat and still can't AAA anything for shit.
