Substitute Teachers

I don't know what it is with subs but every time one walks into the class room he or she will horribly mutilate almost half the class' names. It's really quite pathetic. The sub I had in English was the worst ever. She did a worse job than the real teacher on the first day of school. For example when she got to my name she said "caroline". .. how the hell do you mess that up?! it's only 6 simple letters! None of them are silent like in "john". She did catch the mistake right away but it was still enough to give the class something to laugh about for a few odd seconds. The kid behind me was probably had it even worse off cause he didn't tell her what he really wanted to be called. The teacher went with Stanley when he really wanted to be called Brice. So that's why I think having subs suck, there are those RARE exceptions though. Like Dr.Bob as everyone called him. He was the best guy for the job. He could keep a class under control and still let everyone talk during work time. And he was a pretty old guy too, maybe in his early or late 70s or 60s. Because of his age he always had some fun story to tell from when he was in school.
