Fade

When in distress they say,

"Listen to your heart."

That bleeding, beating hunk of muscle.

An organ that pervades the mind.

The heart says many things,

But to me it only says one.

In my depression, my distress,

My distrust, my disgust.

And what it says to me,

Is that I should simply lie down.

Lie down and just...

Fade away.
