A Wedding Poem (Just poped into my head)

Standing up at the alter, looking from my friend to the preacher,
Trying not to be so nervous…
This is what I have been waiting for, to spend my life with you…
My friend taps my shoulder and whispers:
“I’m proud of you man, I wish you the best..”
And all I can do is smile…
As the music starts to play, I straighten myself up,
Looking towards the doors as the open, finding my breath token from me…
There before me was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen…
Dressed in the red and white dress, hair flowing softly,
Beaming with the perfect smile, was my soon to be wife…
She was an angel before my eyes…
A delicate flower in a bush…
She is my heart and soul…
And as she steps up to me, she whispers softly “I love you”
And I reply “I love you too”…
Watching her as the preacher speaks, afraid of losing the moment…
Afraid of it being a dream and waking up with nothing…
The preacher announced us to say our vows, and I let it flow:
“I promise to love you with all my heart, forever and a trillion days…
You are my one and only, and I wouldn’t have it any other way…
I promise to never lie, to never cheat,
To hold you close whenever you need me,
To kiss your tears and pains away…
But most importantly, to love you..
To be the best husband and father I can be…
I love you…”
And as I look at the tears fall from your eyes, you speak your vows…
I listen intently not wanting to miss a thing, feeling the tears fall from my own eyes…
Nothing could go wrong, I thought, so perfect, so wonderful…
And when she was done, life was at its best… for the rings were placed on the fingers,
And when we kissed, I was lost… I was there, but we weren’t, if you know what I mean.
Lost in our own world, as we dance to our song…
A perfect way, to end a perfect day…
The perfect way, to spend the rest of my life with you…
Right there by your side…
