I had a feeling this would happen

Okay, so to get right with it, here's the breakdown:

First off, you know that feeling you get when you know something bad is going to happen, but you don't know where or when? Well, I've had that feeling every day for the past 6 years, and today something bad finally DID happen, and it scared the living hell out of me.

I was just sitting around at the computer, playing my games on the net, chatting with my friends online, when I suddenly hear this loud bang from outside. My mom was out back, and about a minute later, she came back inside quick saying that what we hadheard was a gunshot. The second I heard that, I almost had a heart attack because my cat was outside and the first thing that crossed y mind was that someone had killed him, and I'm gonna tell y'all right now that I was FREAKING OUT.

Yeah, I know, I shouldn't have brought my cat into this since I should be worrying about who could be hurt, but let's face it - I LOVE my cat to death, and I'd do anything to protect him. So, anyway, my mom calls the police to find out what the hell happened, and it's not until about 20 minutes later that a police officer arrives at the house. (took them long enough) The officer goes out back to investigate, and the second he opens the back door, my cat runs back inside, and not a moment after I saw that I ran over to my cat and just hugged him because I was afraid I had lost him. But the only thing scarier than losing him was the fact that there was no broken glass - or the lacking sound of broken glass - from anywhere.

I KNEW something like this would happen. I just had no idea when it would or where, but now that it's happened, I have a pretty good idea where the gunshot came from. It's likely the gunshot originated from the apartment complex that I live close to, but I still have yet to know why it happened, and that scares me. I just hope no innocent lives were claimed.
