A FADED HELL


1-This is about a fight against the racists
A war which is in different places
This is how I feel about you
Rapin about dis is all I can do

A scar on my soul, a scar on my race
Tears my heart right to the base

2-I shot a child with my gun
This child’s life was now and done
We put the kids in residential schools
Forget your past! Those were our rules…

What was once a peaceful place, we turned into hell
This guilt and pain will mess my mind
See how war will kill man-kind

1-You killed my ma, you killed my dad
Took everything I ever had
Your people came with your guns
You got your way, you got your fun

A scar to my soul, a scar to my race
Tears my heart right to the base

2-We killed the ones who didn’t obey
Made them speak a different way
We took their language, we took their clothes
Replaced it all with what we choice

What was once a peaceful place, we turned into hell
This guilt and pain will mess my mind
See how war will kill man-kind

1-But that wasn’t all, you weren’t done
Put me in a school, treated like a useless tool
Once we were there you violated us
Hit us till we turned to dust

1-Once I escaped this awful place
I heard a shot, my friend was bleeding
Just a kid I started pleading
This man brought my home, he rebuilded my life
He became my friend who was no longer a foe
Guess they weren’t all bad, this we need to know…

2-Now that this hell has vanished into the past
Peace lives again once at last
We mustn’t forget who we’ve hurt
Burry the memories under the dirt… (pause) 2x
