A Glimmer of Sorrow Posted on: February 20, 2009, at 11:27:22pm A broken and battered soul Underneath a bruised and bloodied heart Animate feeling hardened to coal A life now torn apart Eyes like glass, stomach like lead Hands clawing at the throat of inevitable A second's pass, our daily bread Prepares us not for the incredible Life seems almost too much to bare Love found, love gained, love lost, love stained Dries our tears and leaves its glare Misery mocks our pitiful restrain Somehow, somewhere lies a glimmer of hope A quick and heavenly glint of the eye While the hands of sorrow still grope Wherein the newly blackened hearted lie Sometimes even the darkened of mind Can be tainted and cracked open eggshell white Even a tiny shining sliver can find That where happiness shines oh so slight Henceforth the battle of light and dark The wails of agony and the songs of lovebirds Scarring life, leaving mark Clash into ill forgotten words I love you, I hate you I miss you, i loath you I need you, I own you I have you, i lost you I am whole, i am nothing I am strong, i am helpless I am one, i am many i am alone I am never alone And a glint in the eye become a shining beacon To all who are love lost, all who are life lost To the answers of life to which those are seeking Of the neglegent paths that we never crossed Of the sorrow filled rivers that are often leaking To the memories of forgotten happiness never tossed- The shimmering image of a heart is winking |
