So much has happened that it's all been incredibly

Life seems to move pretty fast. And by the time you know it, you will have lived 50 years; half a century. Half a century of history, half a century of memories and moments. Some good, other's not quite the way you planned. But to know that you did something that makes your existence known is what I am writing about. Whether it be helping an elderly woman with her groceries or volunteering at your local hospital, anything and everything helps. You never know, you may be the next elderly person to be approached by a youth.

The Beatles

I'm sitting here, working on one of my articles when all of a sudden my mom comes in, places an unknown record into the record player. I look at her funny and all of a sudden The Beatles start to play. An instant smile spreads across my face. Throwing all her records onto the bed next to me, she begins to to the twist to "Saw her Standing There" one of the original songs brought to us by England's number 1 vocal group. I can't help but laugh. My mom always knows what to do to brighten up my day, especially since today was pretty horrible. And so, here I am, nodding my head to the beat of skipping records, trying to imagine how cool it would have been to meet The Beatles. I am starting to love records so much better than CD's. Except for the skipping. XD I keep hinting for my own record player to my mother, hoping she listens and gets me one when the holidays come around!

EDIT: Omg!!! Twist and Shout just came on and my mom is like turbo with the twisting!!!! I tend to like their version better than Chubby Checkers. In case you don't know who he is, this song is the most popular song ever. A little research doesn't hurt.

Oh, how coincidential! A friend of mine is putting together an informal collection of dark stories, so I've been experimenting a little with the genre myself. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at it, considering I tend to frighten myself writing it long before I am able to frighten my audience!

Hey, long time no talk! Still plowing ahead with that writing of yours?

Oh? Well, if you do, just let me know and I'll browse it at my leisure.

Ah, I don't either, but I know quite a few budding writers who do, so I thought I'd ask. I've kind of always wanted to start a blog, but am on a shortage of time recently. Such is life!

Yes, writing is a good emotional outlet for me as well - except sometimes my style fluctuates drastically with my mood. I will make a note to peruse your other pieces when I have some time, though!
Also, just out of curiosity, do you have a livejournal account?

Hey, at least you are closer to getting published than many other people. Besides, the fact that you are always willing to learn and understand that you can always improve your writing means that you are on the right track.
By the way, I see that you have a lot of stories posted on your DeviantArt. How often do you write?

Wow, I'm impressed! You write for a published magazine -and- have had a novel in the works for over a year? -And- you have a legitimate editor? I feel like I've wasted most of my life... Oh, and of course I would love to read some of your writing!
I've always wanted to take a writing-intensive course, but alas...

Oh? A school magazine? As for your book, is it finished, or a work in progress?
I'm a relative newcomer to the whole writing scene; I started about two years ago with some fanfiction, but most of that was either rubbish or unadulterated fluff (or most likely both). I'd like to think I've gotten better since then, but am still finding trouble writing anything longer than a short story (read: anything that needs plot). I can't even imagine writing a whole novel!

Wow, four years! That's a lot more experience than I have. Have you entered in any competitions or the sort?
Also, are you in college right now? Because you mentioned that you were planning to major in writing...

Oh, me too! I used to dabble a bit in general and romantic fiction, and have recently dipped my toes in fantasy as well. I'm dreadful at depicting action scenes, though - and too squeamish around gore.
How long have you been writing?
