Deep thinking? Or maybe just a rant.

1) Religion itself.
What really befuddles me on the topic of Religion is, how can such a simple document/idea explain such a large concept. The concept of life. It can't, life is the un-explainable. Trying to explain it in one book or belief just doesn't seem practical or understandable to me. I don't know, it's been really bugging me a lot lately. DD:

2) Exams. I get the point of exams. But I still hate them. With an un-dying passion. They're time consuming, long, dreadful, and stressful.
Hatehatehatehatehatehatehate it.

3) Age.
Why the fuck do people think that every teenager is just a mindless, ignorant, stubborn asshole? :[
I get it, generalizations and stereotypes. But it still bugs the shit out of me. I loathe how people judge me purely on age. I want to just stick they're face in a blender.

I don't get it, why is it that an eighteen year old can go to Iraq and fight in war and kill people, and hold a fucking gun. But still not able to purchase or drink alcohol legally? Wtf? lol.

Ughughugh. Comments are welcome. and I love constructive criticism. So, have at it.

  1. Hmm. ^_^
    1) A single document can't explain life. The reason there are multiple religions is probably because there are multiple cultures and beliefs, so calling one religion "correct" is probably a long shot. I think there's something to take from each religion, but a single one can't explain life on its own.
    2) ^_^
    3) Age is one of those things that's highly cultural. First of all, what is a "year" anyway? A "year" is when the Earth has travelled around the sun once..... how does that make us wiser? A "year" is just a chosen measurement of time people like to base "wisdom" and "experience" off of. But everybody ages differently. It is a bit silly. =/

  2. 1) i'd have to say that religious documents (i.e. The Bible, The Koran, etc) are not simple at all... not to those who don't listen. they don't really explain life, but how one should live it. it's not a psychology or philosophy book to be explain why we are here, or anything like that. it is very simply: love.
    2) lulz.
3a) LULZ. whatev... when you go to college you find out that you're a n00b until you get a PhD. then, you're a n00b teaching intro classes until you gain tenure.
3b) parents don't drink with their kids here. not commonly at least. they don't teach them how to drink responsibly. that's why we have so many car crashes due to alcohol (underage and over 21). they think it'll stop us for a while, but you have high insurance rates until you turn 25 anyway(when you're supposedly less likey to cause massive damage while operating an automobile).
    peace.

  3. random comment ftw
    1) i believe religion is moreso a human explination of what humans cant explain, like trying to fit a watermelon through a funnel...trying to fit the vast unknown into terms that we know.... omnipotentcy, divinity, we cant really and truly understand how things work, so we try our best to explain it through a religion. wether or not you choose to believe it is where your faith takes over.
2)omg exams suck. thank gawd theyre over for me...
    3) from a personal standpoint, you judge maturity based on how a person lives their life, what their morals are, and how responsible they are. but those are things you come to find as you get to know somebody. the government doesnt have time for that and just make generalizations based on an average, i would think.
    age=/=maturity

  4. 1) I'm not religious 0.o xD
    2)Agree'd, I hate.
    3) I get stereotyped all the time. It's fucking ridiculous. They all used to be our age, why can't they understand.
    4) We should all have the right to choose to do whatever we want to OUR bodies. It's freedom.

  5. I couldn't help but notice your interesting comment.
    1. I don't find religion so perplexing as the concept of "organized" religion. How can you have other people tell you what you believe? Isn't your belief personal?
    2. I love exams, so I'm not going to touch this one. :P
    3. You know, I recently got this attitude from my public bus driver. ZERO respect for our generation. She tried solving "teenager" problems before they surfaced, but she really screwed herself over.
I'm especially confused about how people think that once the Earth has returned to the same place 19 (or however many) times, suddenly you are physically capable of drinking, or driving, or doing whatever else. I think if a 5 year old can pass the driving test, he should be allowed to drive.

  6. religon=gay
    age is just a number
Exams only come twice a year
    And Alchohol is amazing

  7. It's not good for your brain to drink. That goes especially for people whose brains aren't yet fully developed, i.e. 18 year olds. It's because of the psychological and physical effects of alcohol. Your brain isn't fully developed until around the age of 21-24. 21 is really still too early to be drinking.
A person can't know how their brain will be affected by alcohol.

  8. Also, religion is something modern society needs. People need something that can filter some of the stresses of everyday life. The big questions like, "Why are we here?'' and, "How did we get here?'' CAN be answered by religions around the world, and are. People follow what makes sense to them. Religion is just another one of those things. It gives them answers instead of more questions. It gives them comfort as well.
Really, you can thank religion for giving us the majority of what we have. Technology and the scientific studies our race has been conducting for the past centuries are due in part to finding answers. Without those early steps into philosophy, namely religious philosophy, we would still be inside of the box.

  9. If you don't believe that a document can explain life, read the bible. You may not believe in it, but it does cover most of the big questions scientists seem to ask. The problem is it isn't proven.
People just want to believe they serve a bigger purpose.

  10. Oh, I has an opinion. Human fallibility is too much for most individuals to handle or accept..i think a big reason why religion is taken so seriously is because people need something to trust in, other than eachother, because the human race is so volatile whether thyey know it or not. w00t.

  11. I love how users have to respond in extended comments in order to make themselves feel smarter. As if the correct responses to questions are more adequately answered and suitable given a lengthy explanation.
Ps: browse through the CT forum.

  12. You plaguerized [lolintentional] my writings.
Pretty sure I've said the exact same things.
1.) Religion is an invention. It's the spread ideas, concepts, views, opinions, and perceptions from person to person. It's simply an organization.
Spirituality is a combination of faith, hope, and most importantly, wonder. If you can't question your beliefs, you have no reason to believe them.
2.) I've given up on school, lol.
3.) I'm in the same position. I'm rarely credited with any bit of intelligence, maturity, philosophy, or wisdom due to my age.
On the other hand, I act immature and hyper more often than not, just because it's more fun. It makes getting through the day tolerable.
Regardless, age is hardly relevant in any case involving mind or action.

  13. 1)We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another. religion just gives purpose to many people. as Syhto mentioned... However spirituality is much different and is real whether you want to believe it or not. What else is religion? Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion.
    2) Not that bad, just pay attention in class lol...
    3) Being judged by age is only because of lack of experience and stereotypes, or so "they" say. However, i fail to believe that we are the ones that learn from elderly mistakes and since this has been going ono for thousands of years... We have only become wiser then the past generation thanks to history. In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

  14. Whoops my baddd
    3) Being judged by age is only because of lack of experience and stereotypes, or so "they" say. However, i fail to believe that we are the ones that are inexperienced, since we learn from elderly mistakes and since this has been going on for thousands of years... We have only become wiser then the past generation thanks to history. In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years

  15. Religion: To believe is not to know, to each his/her own.
Exams: They filter out the failures and cheaters in society...most of the time. ;](not that I am one =S)
Age: Any generation will always frown upon the next, it's a never ending(?) cycle.
Alcohol v.s. war at age 18: 18 is agreeably a busy time in your life, where a lot of stress builds from work..exams/school..drama etc. Alcohol leads to drunk driving or crimes, in some cases, and the reason the drinking age is higher in most countries is to prevent freak accidents like that from occurring. A casualty in the public is considered a freak accident or a tragedy.
War is different, kids who sign up for war know they are handing their life over for whatever cause they believe in, which means their death is not an accident, if the possibilities of it happening are very high, which they would be considering it's war, then it's seen as a fatality, a general death, a foreseen loss.
Haven't read any others so if my answers are sim

  16. - similar don't hate me xD
and the war thing can go into the pro war and anti war sides etc. but im not gonna argue that deeply
