I just managed to FC From Mount Chorus, a 1051 max combo that gave me 34 credits. This is the first time I've gotten a max combo over 1000 and that many credits on one song. My previous best was 902, a FC on Straight to Video. I think that was about 25 credits. I doubt I'll be able to do it consistently, but it's nice to see that I can do it.

The song may be very easy, but getting that PC isn't that easy for me. I tried a few more times today, but couldn't do it. And what's annoying is that the 1 good I got on last night's first play right near the very end of the song. Oh well. I've gotten a couple other black flags that I haven't turned into PCs. I imagine I'll improve them eventually, probably when I'm not trying so hard.

I noticed that there was a new Song of the Week listed in the left column of the main page, so I decided to try it. I had to wait a while, since it a spot was open, but the song wasn't available. When it came in, I played it. I saw it was rated Easy, so I thought that I'd do pretty well. I did, and better than I expected -- I black flagged it on my first try. That raised two thoughts: (1) I should be able to PC this, hopefully without much trouble, and (2) this has to be a *very* easy song. I'm not complaining. So many news songs are pretty hard, so I'm glad to see some easier ones. I was just surprised that I could do so well sightreading a new song, even an easy one.

After a lot of playing yesterday, I broke into the top 1000. Hopefully my regular amount of playing will earn me enough points to stay here.

As you must know, the second token has been released. I read the thread about it and tried some things on my own, here and elsewhere, and after a while, I got the token. It wasn't too hard, but does require some lateral thinking, as mentioned in the thread. I'm usually not so good at that, so if most tokens are gotten that way, I may have some trouble. Hopefully future threads discussing the release of token songs will give me enough hints for me to figure out the puzzles and find the tokens.

One of my goals here is to improve my overall rank to reach the top 1000. I'm getting pretty close to it now. Right now, my rank is about 1040-1045, and I'm about 30 million points off the top 1000 list. This is certainly a reachable goal, but it will probably take another 60-100 games to reach, especially since everyone else will be playing games and increasing their scores. But hopefully I'll break the top 1000 sometime soon.
