| About me: | My playing style is Conventional One-Hand 3-Fingers, I don't shrink my screen but do use a speed mod (was 1.5x, now 2x), I've had some very long periods of inactivity, and I didn't play any games like this before joining FFR. Keep these points in mind when looking at my scores/posts. | | Interests: | Widely varied since I love learning. | | Fav Music: | I like most styles of music. Big band, jazz, blues, and classical have been long time favorites. Lately, most of the time I listen to anime music, J-pop, and electronic music (particularly trance or ambient), plus some of whatever's popular. |

Page 6 Skill Token UnlocksPosted on: July 27, 2007, at 05:25:12pm [ 0 comments] I think a few of the latest skill tokens are using harder songs to unlock easier ones, or easier ones to unlock harder ones. Example case 1: Sail AwaY (difficulty 9) is unlocked by FCing three difficulty 5 songs. Example case 2: Prelude to Rites (6) is unlocked by matching a limited breakdown on Evil Approaches (9). I don't expect the token and unlock to match difficulties exactly, but I think they should be close. There's something odd about being able to unlock a token you can't play well (case 1), or not being able to unlock a token you should be able to play well (case 2). I don't completely agree with unlock/token combinations like these two. Case 1 isn't as bad as Case 2 though, IMO. Being able to unlock a harder song gives you a new song to play. Not being able to unlock an easier song is more annoying/frustrating than encouraging improvement, I think. Credit Glitch = Lost Credits?Posted on: July 23, 2007, at 10:09:58pm [ 0 comments] OK, second edit of this post, because my credit totals is practically changing before my eyes as I move around the site. As far as I can tell now, the glitch has been fixed, and my credits are back up to where they were before. It's probably not more than about 20-30 credits off from the last recorded total I had from a FC earlier today. I guess we just had to wait it out. Still, it's weird watching your credits change so much so quickly. I'm glad it seems to be fixed now, and I hope it stays that way. Song/Arrow Tempo IssuePosted on: July 23, 2007, at 05:09:26pm [ 0 comments] I find it noticeably easier to play songs better when they're stepped at the same tempo I hear the music. When they don't match, I have some trouble. For example, I'd swear that both versions of Driveway released so far are stepped with red arrows on both quarter and eighth notes. I'm hearing upbeat eighth notes where I see red arrows. OTOH, Jump In seems to match what I hear. As evidence that this affects my playing, consider this: I got a 10 good FC on Driveway [Light] (difficulty 2) and a a 2 good FC on Jump In (difficulty 5) on my first plays of these two songs. I did better on the harder song, and I think it's because the arrow tempo I see for Driveway doesn't match the song tempo I hear for the music. I think I'm going to start tracking these differences so I'll have a list to refer to, and maybe that others could use in the future. A First Try FCPosted on: July 20, 2007, at 08:27:59pm [ 0 comments] After unlocking Story of Snowman and Sunshine Girl v2, I played it and FCed it on my first attempt. OK, it wasn't clean (790/25/2/0/10), but it's still a first try, sightread FC. I was surprised, because this is a difficulty level 7 song. I only have a few FCs at that level, and they all came after many attempts. 100 FCsPosted on: July 17, 2007, at 09:17:57pm [ 0 comments] I just got my 100th FC, on Hungarian Dance #5. After getting FCs on a few of the new songs, I was very close to 100. It took a few tries on different songs before I got #100, but I finally did it. I've got almost all of the songs at difficulty 6/12 and under FCed, with a few more in the 7s and one at 8. It's nice to hit the milestone of 100 FCs. | Dronak writes... at 6:11:03pm on 9/26/13 Yes, that's my digital piano, a Yamaha YPG-635. I think I used it as my old avatar, too, but this is a newer picture with a better camera. | | V-Ormix writes... at 6:07:06pm on 9/26/13 yamaha <3 | | Hey, sup. I haven't seen you around in a bit. | | Card Man writes... at 3:51:55pm on 9/28/08 Hey! I noticed the Top One-Handers thread in the forums is dieing down a bit....I think we need to start posting again to keep it alive; it would be a shame for all that hard work Bynary did to go to waste. What do you think? ~Cardman~ | | rawr, the Tier Point list has been updated. Make sure you re-tally your requirements, as a lot have changed. Several new songs have been added, in addition to several songs having expanded reqs. The total number of points is listed on the bottom of the list each time it is updated, for future reference. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=95819 | | Was going to give you a thumbs up for the long post you made in Top One Handers but I guess I already did. Hi. :p | | Congrats on unlocking my token fast ;p | | Hey dude. I've updated the top one handers list, if you want a look. I've also tossed out a proposal for the TP list, and feedback would be appreciated. It is in the TP list, http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=95819&page=9 Interestingly enough, your average rank remained the same from the last update. | | I read your comments. Well said, however, I say you can still improve, as long as you don't have something like carpal tunnel (I doubt it). You're still doing pretty good though, I'm sure you can maintain your spot on that list easily. | | Hey dude, I'm not sure if you've forgotten about the top one handers list, but I've completely redone it: check it out! http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=95819 | | Older Comments |
