Noiseless Fetters

Here I stand, bound by these unseen chains
Bound in heart, soul, body, and mind
My every approach to the ones ahead
Restricted or held away

I wish to scream. I want to be heard.
The fetters shake my being, disturb even my words.
I live only with what the fetters shall grant.
A life of isolation and doubt of kinship.

Why can I not struggle against my binds?
What chained my spirit so from some moment?
I desire freedom, to run about with the others
Yet how has my own mind forged my prison?

An inward wish wants the aid of the others.
Yet my voice wavers, my reaching arm hesitates.
For what if the chains could harm more than I?
I wish not to bring pain to anyone else...
