Poem I wrote. Posted on: June 23, 2007, at 05:15:12pm Alone as I stand, in the dark, without a friend. Bleeding out, emptyness takes it's toll. Leave me be as I lay here, profusely spilling my life's essence. It stains the dirt, the air, her soul. Her embrace could resurrect the dead. Drowning in my own suppressed sorrow, I weep. Alone I lay, without a soul to cherrish, memories glide by and fade in the distance, she worries. Goodbye friends, goodbye my family I'll be here, but won't remember you. I'll laugh, but it won't be because of you. I'll cry, but it's not because I know I forgot you. Don't let the tears I shed cause you pain, for soon I'll be with Him, and my loved ones. Soon you'll be with Him, and me. For now, cherrish YOUR memories, for they are all that are left of me and you. I leave you now with pictures, gifts from the past, the only link to what I once was. Since all we can truely own are memories of laughter, of hurt, of love. In Memories of my Great Aunt Cleva, I miss you, so much. Great Aunt Cleva died several years back due to Alzheimers. I miss her terribly. Written by Michael Normann. |
