Welcome a New Talent to FFR

Not often do we find a new artist to showcase on FFR with as much presence and power as AZIM. Before I go any further, I would like to apologize to his manager for taking so long to get the song up on FFR. We had quite a few problems but we were finally able to come through for you guys.
Anyway, I ran across AZIM’s work a few months back and was dropped by the quality of his tracks. I know that we have a crowd here that is 50/50 on hip-hop but you cannot deny that “Freak Out” (in the hip-hop section) is a well produced and catchy track. It is the first song in the hip-hop section and about a level 4 (fairly easy). Please welcome Azim and his work as we hop to attact more hip-artists of his caliber.
Below is a quick bio:

Born Scott Whitfield in Flushing, New York, @zim was the younger of his mother’s two boys. @zim’s brother took on then responsibility of being the male role model in the house. Being 10 years older then @zim he did every thing he could to mold @zim in to a man that would be aware of his environment and the changes that were needed to revitalize it. @zim’s mother worked long days to provide for her family and instilled a work ethic; a motivation in her son’s to survive the quoted ghetto, the struggle! @zim began doing odd jobs around the neighborhood at an early age and completed his first song at age 9. “In the ghetto every one has to grow up fast.” @zim found this out first hand when in 1996 his brother was stolen from his family by a street tragedy. @zim realizing that he had to make things better for his mother became even more determine. He lets his songs speak on his pain, his struggle, his environment. @zim has astonished audiences through out the United States. He has performed at the BET “Free for Life Foundation” and “The Tommy Hilfiger Mix Tape” release party just to name a few. @zim has given electrifying performances with such industry icons as “Black Rob”, “Pharaoh Monch”, “Miri Ben-Ari” and the legendary “Nas”. @zim has appeared on mix tapes around New York City. He has head lined street mix tapes like the Mad Ones ‘Fight Club’ mix tape, where hip hop greats like “Busta Rhymes”, “Missy Elliot”, and “Joe Buddens” and “50 Cent” have been placed after him. Although @zim produces many of his on tracks this multi talented artist has done a lot of work with some of the top producers in the industry. @zim writes all of his lyrics and has done ghost writing for many aspiring artist.

@zim’s current demo contains club hits like “It’s Over” and “Here for a Minute” along with the street anthem “Get your Mo Jo Up”! These are three of the 20 plus tracks on that same demo which is softly titled ‘today the streets, tomorrow the world!’ @zim’s freestyles are already receiving heavy rotation on mix tapes across the city and with labels wanting to know, to understand what an artist is bringing to the table one has no choice but to notice the voice that will change the industry and set the new standard of what an artist must have to appeal to the people across the globe today and for the years to come.

I know I am going to regret this … I have decided that in order to show my dedication to the FFR fans, I am going to release 1 level per day until .68 is finished and live on the site. Starting tonight I will release the first level followed by a new level each day until I either pass out or we get .68 finished.

This could mean just a few new songs or it could mean lots! Time will tell. Either way, everyone’s a winner! Enjoy!

Thank You, May I have Another?

Now that the SGX CD’s are hitting homes across the US and the SexCopter Rul CD’s are in transit, it is time for our next musical treat!

Spook Goblin of “For Great Justice!” has gathered some his best work and smacked it down onto a single CD for all to enjoy. You have most definately seen his work on numerous FFR levels, each of which were created exclusively for FFR. The tracks on this CD will no doubt also keep you mesmerized and bring you inside his twisted mind for over an hour with many previously unreleased tracks (besides la luna and the groove of justice). The CD description says “A mix of Goa, Drum ‘n Bass, Trance and well everything else” and it definately is all of these things, and more. One of the most interesting things about Spook Goblin and his tracks is that he would always tell me the story behind a song before he let me hear it. He would say things like “This is song is about chemical A mixing with Chemical B and their life together”. Always stressing the birth, reason and history behind each of his songs as well as their technical achievements. This was important to him as his music is very private and personal. As he has said, this CD is 5 years in the making. Definately a conversation piece. Definately an FFR artist worth supporting.

One unique feature of this CD is the 2 flavors it comes in.. 2 complete CD Case and CD label designs have been created for this CD and you can order either. I would like to go into some elaborate explanation but ultimately would end up admitting that we simply couldn’t decide which was better.

Again the cd is only $10 and that covers shipping in the US!… CD’s are truesilver and graphics are printed directly to the CD. No stick on labels! profits are sent to the artist with the remainder as a donation to FFR to help with server costs.

FFR League, Back at it Again!

Hey everyone, I know there’s been some confusion with the FFR League, first it’s up, then it’s down, then it’s back up again, and then it’s moved. To make a long story short it’s back, it’s at home on the FFR Forums and it’s here to stay, it’s not going to dissapear this time and it’s going through to the end.

If you signed up anytime before Lightdarkness’ forums you will have to resign up. Just enter the FFR LEAGUE FORUMS. It doesn’t matter whether you just signed up today and have never played FFR or any similar game before, or whether your a veteran – there is a division that should fit your playing style.

Season one will begin a week from today.

Match ups and everything you will need to know will be managed in the league forum sections, so go there to stay updated.

PS. If you signed up as a guest for the leagues, they can’t sign you up for any catagory. So if you did this please resign up under your registered FFR login name.

FFR Siggy Toy

Some of you may have been following the FFR Siggy thread in the forums since last night and already know about the siggy tool for FFR.

And for those of you who don’t know:

FFRSiggy is a signature tool that you can use on other forums or on the FFR forum. It simply displays all your stats. Here is what it looks like if I configure it for my name.

To use the FFRSiggy you need only do 2 things when inserting it as your signature on another forum

1) Use the image tags to wrap the call to ffrsiggy. For example [url=http://www.flashflashrevolution.com][img]http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/ffrsiggy.php?user=Synthlight[/img][/url] would show the stats for Synthlight and link back to FFR if someone clicked on the sig.

2) Make sure you set the user variable to your member name. Improper names will result in an error and the image will not be generated.

I do have to make sure everyone knows that challenge records has only been enabled since about 4 days ago. So those of you running challenges for the past few months won’t see many of your older challenges included.

Downloadable Version with 70 Songs Available

For those of you new to the site. You can play FFR to your hearts content for free. This is the way it has always been. There are links on this page that allow you to load FFR and use all of it’s current features for no charge. FFR is a non-profit project.

People who donate $3.00 (credit card or paypal) to the site will have access to a "one time download subscription" that allows a special non-standard version of FFR to be downloaded. This special version contains all the current songs in one neat little 70mb package while still retaining the ability to use online scoring, the shop and challenge modes. Our server costs are in the 4 digit range due to how fast this site is growing. The donation money allows us to recover some of the server costs while promoting quick development of new features. Quarter Million Member Mark

Well, we have done it. We have finally reached the quarter million member mark. 254,378 members to be exact at the time of this news post. To entertain myself I did some figuring of some unimportant stats. For instance, 1 in every 1000 people in the US have an account on FFR. Ok, sure, well.. That would be if all the registered members were from the US only. We cannot forget all the people from Canada, South America, Europe, Aussie Land (bprc!) and last but not least Asia. So thinking on a worldwide scale that is more like 1 in 25,000 people worldwide are FFR members. Still not bad! Useless info, but interesting. We also have about 500-1000 new members per day, every day. Not bad considering we have been around for about a year and a half already. It is always good to see new people joining the site and experiencing the game. That would mean that most likely there is not a single school out there that doesn’t have students that use FFR. Potential advertisers are you reading this? lol

We are averaging somewhere around 400k-700k page views per day depending on what stats package I look at. This comes out to about 2 million+ hits per day. The file transfer per day ranges from about 40gb to about 60gb PER DAY. Which of course is costing me a fortune. Thankfully we have people supporting us by purchasing CD’s and mp3 packs etc..etc.. (thanks to all of you!)

We are still trying to wrap up .68 for you guys (done soon I hope!) and R2 development continues on. We are still trying to figure out how to handle a feature in R2 because I think it is going to cause some serious bandwidth problems but we will find some way around it.
