I submitted this before, but this was originally a dump file! Huh. Maybe it can work here, with all the dumpiness that was removed from its previous submission.

wow holds ok

A new chart file was uploaded.

(Reject)

I gotta be honest, this is going to be pretty subjective, but I don't really see the point of the abstract bursts in this file.

- background buzzes and laser sounds shouldn't take the forefront when it comes to difficulty. 99% of the difficulty of this file comes from bursts that are loosely following sounds in the background.

- the hidden minijacks in these bursts are excessive and don't really convey the intensity of the song too well imo.

- You've got to ask yourself whether this file really needs all these abstract notes.. The only parts in the song where the abstract notes felt accurate were when the singer went ''Ahhh'' but then you have these insane ''Red Vector Acid Minute'' type staircases that are completely over the top.

So yeah like I said, pretty subjective notes, but I honestly feel the abstract notes kinda take away from the quality of the file rather than enhance it. Would love to see a more toned down version of this with less focus on all the bells and whistles in the background and more focus on what's actually important in the song.

Reject, a lot of the dumped elements here are pretty heavy-handed given how soft most of the sounds are (basically all of the 48th and 64th bursts, especially the longer 48th bursts and shorter 64th bursts), and I think the difficulty curve in the chart is very imbalanced as a result. I don't mind the staircase bursts very much and I think that they're funny, but the rest of the chart definitely feels much harder in comparison and it's frustrating to play through as a result.

There are other things like missing bursts (missing laserbeam at 2:35.045), a lot of background samples being omitted despite them being a touch louder than the background samples being layered, and so forth. I think you can also make 32nd jumpstream for parts like 44.863 since they feel quite empty as is, and the additional synth can probably justify a layer of ghost notes too, but that's a smaller point. The chart just felt too haphazardly done both in terms of difficulty progression and consistency.

REJECT.

Honestly I think this chart could be pretty fun if the difficulty curve was flattened a fair bit. However, in this state the balance of the chart is just too affected by the bursts, especially given their somewhat abrasive patterning/layering.

See for example as early as 12.000 where the first "flam" (321) is far more prevalent musically than the one at 12.136, yet because of the layering of the jump, it's the latter that gets a "quad flam". Then there's 23.136, where the player is basically expected to play (12)3(124)3(12)31 (234). That simply does not feel relevant at all to the music. There are a couple of these, and it just comes down to rethinking the burst patterns so that they dont feel as jarring relative to the rest of the file which is super tame.

Reject but it feels like it could get in with better difficulty control/nerfs.

I actually found this to be pretty fun, but it's definitely far too overdone for FFR. So many bursts need to be toned down here, and the staircases should probably get nerfed to be slower.

It'd probably be a pretty good mid-FMO level file if you leaned in to more colour shenanigans and nerfed a lot of the bursts to be more friendly. It's around the speed of my Birthright file, it could definitely be done. idk, it's an option.

It's a reject from me.

This file lacks cohesion (in a bad way), and the intention of dumping the bursts feel odd in some areas, which makes the difficulty curve feels very wild as a result. I don't really care about the staircase bursts which gives you the Red Vector Acid Minute vibes in a couple places (which it gave me a chuckle), but it really does need to control the difficulty better.

Most of the dumped background samples feels overdone, and often times it's enough to create unintentional abrasive transitions that are definitely not called for the song it gives, which leaves a negative impression on first couple playthroughs. It really suffers from the difficulty cliffs and valleys which makes performance-wise really depends on hitting those abrasive patterns in general.
