Default Who wishes there were more standard songs for newbs like me?

I recently have figured out that ffr gets quite boring if ur not good enough to do good on tricky (difficulty) but too good to play anything below standard. Thats why i wish there were more standard songs to deal with because SHAG gets quite boring. Reply to this if u agree with me or wanna give me a few pointers on how to get better for tricky songs. i.e finger positions or such.

Standard songs are boring, and there's quite a large number of them. Your progress is most noticable during the period when you play those songs, so we need a smaller amount. You'll get good soon enough, stop whining.

Kthx.

Nah, I wouldn't really like to see more Standards... but I wouldn't like to see any more For Masters Only for a while either. I'm still around the Tricky/Challenging level and anything slower is just too boring. Don't worry, you'll get better, you just have to keep trying the harder levels and work 'em piece at a time.

standard songs are boring
challengeing songs do exactly what they mean, they are challenging
they improve your skill
just play it a billion times

I think the near impossible songs suck. It just gets ridiculous after a while when you see nothing but arrows come down the screen. it doesn't seem to matter so much what the music is anymore, and it is just all arrows. There should be a bigger focus on rhythm and flow with steps instead of just how many you can shoot out in a song.

wtf Snapps? Is that how you play? I find it WAY easier with index for up arrow and middle for right arrow. And we don't need more standard songs, just challenge yourself more. It's the only way you'll get better.

standard songs would be fine if not everyone could AAA them...the timing window needs to be reduced there are only like 5 songs that should even have AAA's...when like 100 people AAA inginuity its kinda ridiculous...personally i lied the old system where virtually nothing was ever AAAed

Agreed. A song can still be fun even though it is easy. On DDR, some of my favorite songs are on the easy side (like Don't Stop, .59, Era), because you can really feel the rhythm and get into the song.

But you move your body to that, Jewp. An easy song with your fingers rarely has that effect on you.

The "near impossible" songs you speak of are only that because of FFR. :P But, you're right, though, playing easier songs on DDR can still be very fun.

I like around "challenging" songs, no retarded or horribly offsync ones.

Theere are no near impossible songs on ffr. Aside from like revolutionary and minute waltz...which arn't really that hard.

And its not just 'arrows' for better players. Most of the songs are patterns, and go to the music quite well (aside from the 2 songs mentioned above) if you're good enough to hit the arrows.

If it wasn't for the challenging songs, the game would quickly become boring for people that play it fairly often.
