Default Playing DDR for the Fisrt Time!

Well I finally played DDR, but is it better to play FFR first then DDR or DDR then FFR?

Either way I suck at both.

They compliment each other. If you get better at one you'll notice that you're better at the other. FFR gives you the reading skills to be able to perform well at DDR, and DDR gives you the hand-eye(/foot-eye) coordination which helps your timing on FFR.

But for those of us with metal pads and projector screens...

I mean, foam pads and a 19'' LCD that leans back....

Practice at home on Stepmania ( I got a foam pad for 50 bucks canadian ) then take it to the arcade! (make sure you get rid of those manboobs before anyone sees you play)

FFR and SM helped me get really good at DDR/ITG.

Keep at FFR and DDR same time, and your DDR should get high.

Im currently around 11-13 on ITG.

Well I started DDR first about years ago and its only recently I'm playing FFR. When I started FFR my fingers were a bit soft and numb now but playing FFR and SM gives me more skill on DDR.

If you want playing DDR for the first time without getting embarrassed, buy or borrow those old Topway soft pads and buy the old PS1 or the new PS2 mixes and build your skills at home!

You'll notice that when you get better at DDR and (if you're good enough) ITG, you will notice that some songs rely more on stamina and speed, so you have to be fit. FFR will help you read many notes carefully, but the stamina and speed part is what you have to increase yourself.

lol thats a must, another note DDR you need fancy foot work 2 play but FFR you need 2 be able 2 move around the keyboard very quickly. The only option is if you are better at DDR, you can buy the DDR Energy Mat it plugs into the computer, and you can play that way but thats CHEATING lol
