Do I have to be on a lot to get tokens?

I don't have any tokens, do I have to be on a lot, like everyday, in order to get tokens? Is it something I get for doing a specific thing or I have to be on and do a lot of stuff to randomly get a token, I'm not on so much so I'm clueless...
