Default Hannibal Rising

The fourth of the "Hannibal Lecter" series.

I just watched it earlier today and personally, I thought it kind of sucked. I thought it would've been at least a little scary, but it was hardly was. Okay, so it wasn't the worst movie ever made, but it definitely wasn't a good one either. Silence of the Lambs was definitely the best one.

Hannibal Rising is about the childhood of Lecter or something like that right?

Yeah, his early years and how he came to be [the whole being a cannibalistic murderer].

I thought it pretty much sucked. When was the last time a good horror movie was released?

I don't think it was meant to be a horror movie, the same as Silence of the Lambs wasn't a horror movie. It's not supposed to scare you, so if you go into the theatres expecting that, you would end up being sorely disappointed. I haven't seen it, but I know that none of the series is meant to scare people. Maybe disturb, but not scare.

Yeah, these movies are thrillers, not horrors.

This requires a three day old topic bump.

So, I just saw the movie, after recently reading the book, the story still fresh on my mind.

Downright bloody AMAZING.

Seriously, loyal to the book, the characters were perfect, the kid who played Lecter was perfect, it was everything a fan of a book could want.

People who didn't read the book, that's obviously another story.
