Disco. But then we'd have to break up the dance category into all sorts of other genres too.

Eurobeat. Particularly music from the Hi NRG Attack record label.

Some more rock would be good though. :] Besides the fact that a lot of rock songs are either boring or hard to step... I wish I could step...

Re: New songs on ffr
For radio songs, just to put things in perspective:
I remember a long while back ago, somewhere between 5-6 years ago, I knew a couple of people who wanted to look into making their own music game. They contacted a couple of record labels in regard to using music in their game. The rock group The Offspring - the label wanted about $10,000 just to use ONE of their songs. Now that was in about 2001 and at that time, I'd thought The Offspring had pretty much run its course. Just think how much more it could be six years later with more popular artists. We'd have to do covers more likely if it ever happened because I really doubt Synth is sitting on spare $10,000 bills. What this means is Synth will be doing lead vocals and I'll be playing the cowbell for all FFR covers.

If it ever comes down to it, though, FFR has alot of artist (Starshot, Jewpin, KgZ and more) so I doudt the Synthtic Lights would be called for more then a Evenly Brothers remix! Back on Topic: If we can get more Hip Hop, Funk, and Rock, then that does it, but a Folk section would be nice (Listen! Can you hear? Carried with the Wind!) What would be cool, but hard as crap to do, is have a Oldies section ( Wake up, little Sue-o-sy Wake up!) |

Re: New songs on ffr
I think it would be really cool to see more rock songs on ffr, I'm getting a little tired of having such a large proportion of dance songs. I'd preferably like to see a lot of rock songs with a fast beat rather than the selection of slow rock songs we have right now so as to provide a bigger variety for the more elite players.

Re: New songs on ffr
It's kinda of difficult to separate all the genres in Dance because of all the ridiculously different electromica subgenres they can be categorized to. Actually, I think if we were to separate the Dance section, we should just go ahead and make an "Electronic" genre to make less confusion.
Hiphop and Funk could join together, and Electronic could take the empty space where one of those two used to be. Hiphop is a tricky genre to collect without asking more amateur artists (most I really don't care for). I've asked Eyedea, Diverse, Illogic, Sage Francis (all who would be 100% perfect for FFR) and none of them seem to be very interested in it. Rock is a pain in the ass to step because the human isn't perfect in time, so not only are there miniscule tempo changes (and believe me, no matter how small the bpm change, it can totally ruin a song if you leave it out.), but the band isn't 100% on with with music, which adds to more bpm changes to keep the drummer on beat (it's not extremely noticeable to the human ear, but steppers can physically see how off or on it is, and this goes back to the bpm changes thing).

Re: New songs on ffr
A hyperbeat section with like 15 songs would be awesome.
We already have two hyperbeat songs in Exciting Hyper Highspeed Star and Hyper Pressure. More would own. |

And not before a Folk section!!
Let's forget the rants and get back on the subject. Merging Funk and Hip-Hop is good. We can have two Dance sections, and that might help make Dance be more La--eh, n00b friendly. To be real, I dont think we need another section in the game. |
