Hi
I started playing DDR a week ago.
Are these good? My goal is to be able to pass Max 300 heavy by the end of next week. (I know, it's just wishful thinking...) I have gotten to the stop once or twice, but I always run out of stamina and lose immediately after. Also, I play Stepmania on the keyboard spread style. I don't really bother with accuracy becuase my accuracy sucks. I usually only focus on passing hard stuff. Also, my speed mod is C650, but I forgot to change the language file so it appears as a blank space. 270 bpm, whoo holy hell how did I A this? Hard steps My own Destiny file. What the hell was I thinking when I made this ****? Gaussian mist part two, sightread. Maybe this could be better but it felt like a pretty good run. A la Menthe Beginner- not an easy pass Hey it's an AA, not bad. I suck balls at jacking, this is the only semi decent jack score I have gay file, never playing again I love jumpstreams, and I'm not too bad at them. oops its archowl lol moogy Probably my closest thing to an AAA on a file with like 100 arrows or more. Also posting becuase it's one of the funnest sims I've played, and it's a THAOR FILE! The files I want to pass some time soon are: MSWGO. One time I made it all the way to the end and forgot that there were two jumps after the freeze and failed. Gay. (Usually I get by the 24ths but die on the alternating jumps soon thereafter) Gigadelic. It looks passable, but it isn't, grr.

Re: Hi
You get about 30 CB's and a B on max 300 standard, and you expect to clear max300 heavy next week? That sounds hopeful, but it might be possible I guess. Those two scores are awful and good at the same time, depending on what you compare them too. I've AAA'd My sweet Darlin @ arcade, so I wouldn't say it's very good though (it is pretty easy). But since yo've only been playing for a week, I would guess it's pretty good. You've probably been into Stepmania for a decent amount of time, so you are able to read the patterns but your problem is stamina as you say, and your perfection at leg placement and stuff like that is probably not good yet. Just keep pushing yourself and you'll get better. Maybe good enough to clear max300 next week ? =)
Btw: Go to www.ddrecall.com to check out other ddr players' profiles if you want to know where you'r at in ddr =) |

Re: Hi
Thanks, I've been trying index style on the keyboard, which I found helps me think about patterns and stuff when playing on a pad. Crossovers still screw me over, I've been going through old NVLM pad files and playing them once and moving on. They almost all have crossover patterns, and I'm hoping doing that will help me react faster to crossovers and read them correctly.
And yeah, I've been playing FFR for like 10 months, and stepmania for about 8. EDIT- Wait, are Blur and Badger really all that good? I never knew.

Re: Hi
Though I've been trying C700 recently and, while it helps my accuracy a bit (maybe 5 greats on average), it kills my speed. I can barely pass 250bpm on C700.

Re: Hi
whoa it's hihi from psychopath.
max300 heavy is really just stamina and the quality of your pad (I figure that you have no trouble reading the arrows by now if you're using 1.5x >.>). Drink some water, warm up with a few sevens/eights and off you go. ps j1 helps |

Re: Hi
J1 helps when it comes to passing the song, but do you really want to clear max300 by making it easier that way? You could probably fix the .ini as well and make it loads easier, but what is the glory in that? Even clearing max300 on a pad, hooked up to a computer with stepmania, playing J4, L4, will not prove that you can clear it on an arcade machine, since it's a bit more strict.
One way you could make it easier is by having a chair, or some other stuff behind your pad, so that you can simulate the bar on a ddr machine. Use this if it makes you drain less stamina or something. If you have a plastic pad (one of those thin, easy to destroy ones) it could get ugly just because of the fact that those are pretty useless. If you have a logic 3, TX1000 (or some other TX stuff) or a Cobalt Flux the pad probably isn't gonna be in the way of clearing max300... |

Re: Hi
I have the foam Red Octane Ignition pad. It's certainly not crappy, but I know that it's nowhere near arcade quality. Also, It's kind of cheap because the arrows on the pad are raised instead of recessed like the arecade arrows. Since I have massive feet (size 14 shoes) I can really easily hit quads with just my feet. This makes it almost too easy to "mash" on the pad during the hard 8th sections in Max300. I'm pretty sure I would have a lot more trouble playing with an arcade pad.
I also use a chair with a towel on it for any hard songs (like 7+ footers), but I try to refrain if I'm playing something easier. Whatever, passing Max300 heavy is just a goal. It's not like the end of the world if I can't do it. Also, .ini editing and screwing with the judge settings is stupid. I prefer to play 100% legit, thanks.

Re: Hi
What judge does the arcade use?
If you're having difficulty, try using judge 2 or 3. It's a lot easier. |

Also the arcade doesn't feel that much more strict than stepmania. Maybe like judge 4.5?
