Re: Gone a Week
Yep, I'm back. The week of vacationing with the family just ended this last sunday. The past few days have been for the recouperating and laundry.
Lets see.. Day 1 We started at CA Adventure Park. The only problem was that the 2 main roller coasters were both down. Good thing we were doing a 2 day Hopper, so we could get into either park at any time. The day was fun, and we did a little of Disneyland that day also. We got to do the remade Pirates of the Carribbean, which was good, but I still liked the old music better. We did Big Thunder Railroad late, after the sun was down. and I have to say, that ride is SO much faster at night. I actually think they might speed the rides up a little at night, and if not, it sure felt like it. Doing that ride at night is a must. Space Mountain was mobbed though, but we got to do it right as the park was closing. The ride was worth it though. It is always fun. We slept at CA Adventure Hotel, which is beautiful. Day 2 We started in Disneyland on day two, made the whole round. Mostly missing Fantasyland and all of Toontown, of course. We did get to go on the train around the park. I had never done that before, and really liked the Grand Canyon Prehistoric thing, which I had never knew existed, and is not on the map. We went over to CA Adventure to do the main coaster twice, and then just finished up a few things, and then when it was time to go, we headed down to Manhattan Beach, to crash at my Uncle's house, who is one of the most popular and connected Chefs of Manhattan Beach. (I'm going to be a little more brief now, cause this stuff was more leisurely.) Day 3 After a little bit of time visiting my Uncle we drove up to Santa Barbara, got there in the afternoon, and did some walking around downtown. There was a power outage on the block that the resturant we were going to eat at was, and so they were closed, but instead found a really need place in the middle of the buildings. A mexican resturant that used the middle courtyard as their seating. Day 4 This is the day where we went to Mission Santa Barbara, read about the real story of the "Woman of San Nicholas". (The girl in "Island of the Blue Dolphins") We also went to the Museum of Natural Art, which was really neat, and spent some more time shopping downtown. This evening, we drove to Solvang, and slept. Day 5 This is the day we did Solvang. We got to rent a 4 seat Surrey and had fun with that, and I got a puzzle, which we have already finished after getting home. We also walked around Mission Santa Ynez, and went to a town called Los Olivos, which has a lavender farm, and a neat artist that does Glass Enamel on Bronze painting and scupting. Day 6 We drove back down to Manhattan Beach, and spent more time at our uncles house. We had a nice day there, going around the city. Day 7 This was just our trip home, and at home, we had an uncle from the other side of my family, doing the exact same thing we just did on Day 1 and 2, and so stayed at our house for the one night. This was this last sunday. So yes, it was a good week, and now I am back into the swing of things. Oh, and Msbrunettemickey might be stopping by here today, all the way from NJ. |

Re: Gone a Week
sounds like it was fun. I'm going to Disney World(FL) in 2 weeks. I can't wait. Yes, i'm 17, but we are staying on the Boardwalk, which is connected to Epcot(cultural stuff, cuisine from different places in the world, etc.)

oh god Epcot is my favorite Disney place EVER When you're not in the Around the World part, and in the rides place, make sure you go to the Fast Track or whatever they call it...even if you have to wait a long time. It's worth it.

Yeah =( When i finally got Cen's address it was a day before my last day in California. This weekend we are going to discuss our next trip to there for my brother's bar-mitzvah and it would be hopefully a longer one (not like the 4 days) and i will have a higher chance of meeting Cen =)

Re: Gone a Week
Man i went to Solvang this summer. It was quite a dissapointment.
I got a BLT in one of the resturants, it had to be the worst BLT ever brought into existance. Other than that Solvang was nice despite it's total tourist-trapness.
