Smash Brothers Father to Return
Masahiro Sakurai will be returning to Nintendo to direct SSB for the Revolution. He left Nintendo to create his own company. He was also part of the team which created Meteos, one of my favorite puzzle games to date. Basically I just know we have a lot of SSB fans here, and this is just more good news to be excited about.

RE: Smash Brothers Father to Return
Why is there such a big hype around SSB. It's a decent Fighter, explain what makes it awesome, the fact it's from Nintendo?

RE: Smash Brothers Father to Return
It's an extremely balanced, easy to pick up and play, yet extremely deep multiplayer fighter with all of Nintendo's most recognizable characters.
Most of all, it's just incredibly fun. I'm sure people who play the game more than I do can explain it better.

RE: Smash Brothers Father to Return
Lessee here.
1) Replay Value. 290 Trophies to get, and you're actually interested in getting them from the start. 2) Best multiplayer fighter ever. Honestly. There are like 40 different modes for battle and many many options to make it even more fun if it gets too generic for you. 3) Easy to play, hard to master. There are tricks and such I still can't do, like a trick I think is called "dodge sliding". It's this way of insanely fast movement across a map with even the slowest player by jumping, then dodging back down+forward immediately after the character leaves the ground. I can do it a few times in a row, but it hurts. 4) Characters. 25 characters and almost all of them would be recognizable to anyone (sans Game and Watch). The game solves the question of "what if ____ got in a fight with ____ ? Who would win?" for Nintendo characters. And hopefully the new version will have even more characters and some Sega ones as well. ~Squeek |

RE: Smash Brothers Father to Return
SSBM kicks serious ass. THE most addicting fighting game ever, and takes a lot of techique to master.
Currently I'm trying to make a good grab combo with Ice Climbers to do about 60 damage. So far my record is 49 on level 9 noob computer. Seriously, though, I can kick mega ass with Ice Climbers. I dare you to challenge me when Revolution's wifi arrives. I will kick your ass if they still have Ice Climbers. *Edit* 321 posts.

I expect all of those who seem to have any sort of skill to play against me once we all get the hang of the game.
I cannot wait. ~Squeek PS - Wavedashing... Dodgesliding sounds much cooler. |

My favorite game mode ever is 3 vs 1, and in which I am the 1. I call it "Try To Kick The Jew's Ass." I'll even let them get the "all-mighty" characters like Roy and Young Link and Mewtwo and I'll crush them as, say, Bowser. It's so fun blocking and dodging everyone's attacks.

I'm not that great, but I can kick some ass with Peach. Yes, that is right. Peach. She is one of the best characters in terms of defense, and I am a defensive player. Another good character that is extremely strong and annoying is Samus. Missiles anyone?

Fox FTW, I'm a speed player myself.
Roy is higly overrated. But on topic, the Revolution will be near worth it just for this. I hope they make like 10 player rooms in huge arenas, that would be uber awesome. |

I play with anyone in the game. I first started out with Fox, then grew into Capt. Falc. Alas, I fell on to Roy somehow and started owning Kamoa and MM. Then MM started to use Marth to counter me. He got really good with him and then we tied a lot. I basically stopped playing video games for a good 2 years and they kept playing for like a year. Now I get ownd everytime I play....=/

HUZZAH! It's about time he realized it was a mistake leaving Nintendo to fend for itself.

...and Mewtwo just sucks. You just can't beat another player the same skill as you playing a teir one character such as Sheik. You guys should watch videos of really good players at tournaments. I've a few, and they're pretty amazing. |
