Soul Calibur 2
What do you think of this game? Do you think that Namco did a good job in the graphics? What about having a new character for each system, would that be a step foreward for sytem gaming, or would it just upset people with only one console?
Any input would be appreciated |

You're a few years late here... SC3 is coming out this year.
SC2 is amazing, but the PS2 suffers from rough edges and slowdown on certain levels(Phoenix Court). |

RE: Soul Calibur 2
Im just talking about the idea of having different characters exclusive to one system do you think that will pan out, or die.

I bought that a long time ago. I've played as inferno a lot. I've played as the king of pirates. Know why? I bought Action Replay alongside it.
$30.00 for it. I=Win. -Mr. 1up-

I prefer not to pay $30 to cheat.
--- It would be better if characters were more balanced. Mitsurugi is by far the best in fact that his skills can hit anyone at any time if used correctly, and his final non-joke weapon has has 220% defense and like 170% offense. Which is insane compared to anyone except Spawn. Thing is Spawn only appears on XBox and doesn't have that great of moves in the end anyway. |

Mitsurugi isn't neccessarily the best character. I can beat "tournament winners" with anybody. I mean, in the right hands, any character is lethal. And Mitsurugi's final non-joke weapon...I think it was the Damascus Sword...You can't block with it, so you can put a fast attacker like Talim or (If you have the GCN version) Link up against him and he's dead meat. And Raphael's Queen's Guard gives more defense, not near as much offense, but you can still block with it, at the cost of losing health with each swing, but it's like, .33 points of health out of a 200-point life bar, so it doesn't really matter anyway.

Was a pretty good game, I'm not that into fighting games though.
I was best with Nightmare... |

RE: Re: RE: Soul Calibur 2
I hated playing with Mitsurugi. His fighting style was too plain.
Kilik was my favorite, simply because he looks the coolest while performing his moves. Talim was my second favorite because she's extremely fast and has some amazing moves to pull. Link was another favorite for his speed, range, and the fact that he's Link. But honestly, the game is really old now. It's worth 20 bucks in most stores. I beat it about two weeks after it came out. That includes the really long Weapon Master mode, both times through. ~Squeek |

RE: Re: RE: Soul Calibur 2
I recently bought it, actually. I had played it a long time ago and wanted to own it myself, so i bought it. yup, $19.99. not horrible, no. My favorite character is Voldo, because of all his special moves, like his roll attack and stuff like that. Oh and I'm really cheap with him. That too. My other favorites are seung mina and kilik (they are exactly the same, seriously, same moves, almost same weapons, I mean come on) because you can go beyond cheapness with them. Just whack people around with a pole, again, and again. From a distance. If that isn't cheap, I don't know what is. Least favorite is probably astaroth because if the character isn't fast, I suck at controlling him/her. Cervantes and Yoshimitsu are good as well. And link, of course.

I played a bitchin' Nightmare. But honestly, no one plays this game anymore. There's even less interest in it simply because Soul Calibur 3 is going to be console only, no arcade. OoOoOoOoOh well |

Soul Calibur 2 is one of the best games I've played, and I hope that Soul Calibur 3 will be even better. My favorite characters are Link, Yunsung, Kilik, and Taki. And I played both the arcade and two of the console versions.
Oh, and there proabably will be three new characters in Soul Calibur 3, and I heard that it will have characters from previous games.

Im betting that a big reason as to why they stayed with Sony is because they got the most money off of that version, even though most of the people I have talked to have said they like the gamecube one.

That is also a false statement as far as my info goes. I heard that SC3 will come out on the PS2 sometime near the end of 2005.
