Default numb3rs

I'm supprised someone hasn't made a thread on this yet. Heres the story.

Numb3rs is a brand new show on CBS, they just showed their second episode last night.

The show runs every Friday night at 10pm eastern.

The show is about this one mathmatician, who is roughly in his twenties, who helps his brother in the FBI predict where serial criminals will strike next, using extremely complicated formulas.

It's an amazing show, and really gets your mind going to wonder if this could really happen. I mean... in theroy it could, it just takes someone smart enough.

Last nights episode involved the Uncertainty Priciple(omg sp), and they mention that schondlers (omg sp again!) cat, the unsolveable formula.

It's really a great show, I recommend watching it. Has anyone else watched it?

No, I have not watched it, but it sounds like a good show. I will make a note for myself to check it out next Friday. CBS is channel 5 right?

Haha. Stretchy's mom asked me today to watch numbers and see if they're using real equations or just making stuff up and whatnot (I'm a math major). Quite a coincidence.

*Principle

*Schroedinger's

Schroedinger's Cat is very much solvable - The cat is both alive and dead when it is in the box.

I love this show, but it has a large chance of being cancelled. Every show I enjoy is cancelled.

Still haven't watched ep2. Downloaded it. Saving it for my train ride home later today. Along with Johnny Zero ep3. Need something to do on my weekly train rides.

The first episode was interesting. I am quite upset at CBS as a network though. Do they not have ANY ideas for a show that isn't related to crime solving? 3 CSIs, Cold Case, JAG, Judging Amy, NCIS, Numb3rs, and Without a Trace. Damn! 9 of their 16 hours of primetime tv each week is crime solving related.

PS - Johnny Zero... pretty frickin bad.

Haven't seen it, but just a thought...how would he use mathematical sequences to predict the behavior of serial killers? That seems completely illogical to me, simply because of the extreme complexity of the human brain. You see, most organs remain largely the same throughout your life, short of growing and aging. Your brain is constantly growing and evolving, and everybody's brain is completely unique- like fingerprints that constantly change. Imagine a normal organ in your body as a bike. Your brain, in comparison, is like a spaceship in terms of complexity. I realize it's only TV, and he probably has a much better explanation for it on the show, but it seems just a tinge unrealistic.

Don't get me wrong, he doesn't predict stuff like "A crime will occur at 44 FFR Lane", but rather "Hot Zones", areas where it's most likely to occur.

Now for episode 2, he predicts bank robberies, and therefore did have 2 differen't banks.

What's to solve? It's not an equation, but rather a thought experiment. Now, Schrödinger did have his wave function, psi, but it's ever-changing, so of course it's unsolvable...

Gah, I just need to watch it on Friday.

Ok, last nights episode was missing something. It didn't have the excitement that the other episodes had, but it was still really good.

Although, everything was kinda given away in the commercials leading up to it.

Still, a good show.

He was the head elf from "The Santa Clause"

Just watched Friday's ep... and, I agree LD. I'm guessing because it had to do with a potential threat instead of an actual ongoing threat, the intensity wasn't the same.

That was probably it. Because it wasn't an iminant threat, it wasn't as intense as the previous episodes.
