Christmas Present -DO'S AND DONT'S-
Well... the title basically explains the whole idea of the thread. I'm workin on a small article for the school newspaper and I'd really appreciate some help. I need you guys to help me make a list of things that you should NEVER give someone for christmas, or something that you definitely SHOULD. I wanna make this both creative and funny so I'd really appreciate some help
-HVAM.

RE: Christmas Present -DO
I need...funny...stuff...example (stuff I got with the help of Reach on msn):
DO's -Buy your friends shirts 10 sizes smaller then what they should be..Because if the shirts turn out too big, they might get the impression that you think they're FAT. -Buy an IB Diploma student a cup of coffee. Honestly, they'll really appreciate it. (you might not get this one...in-school joke) DONT'S -Buy your boyfriend or girl friend perfume or cologne, wouldn't want to give them the impression that you think they smell like a dumpster now would we? etc..etc...I really need some help.

Don't give gift certificates to stores the person will never go to. Just give money, always works.

RE: Christmas Present -DO
DO GIVE:
Money. Take a list of stuff they want, determine the cash value, and give them that amount, along with a note that says "Get it yourself, lazy ass." Make sure to deduct the amount of money spent on the note from their present. A really tiny present (pocket knife, dollar store jewelry, Hot Wheels car) inside of a really tiny box, inside of a slightly larger box, inside of a slightly larger box, inside of a slightly larger box, inside of a slightly larger box, inside of a slightly larger box, inside of a MASSIVELY HUGE BOX. Make a really big deal about them opening it, and act like it's a huge thing inside of the box. Or, put yourself in that giant box. Have other people say that you couldn't make it to the Christmass gathering, and then when they open the box and find you, you give them the real present. DON'T GIVE: A slap in the face (wait till the day after if they really deserve it) Just a box. If you give them a box, make sure something's in it. Joy and Christmas songs. For goodness' sake we know that Christmas is about more than joy to the world!

Give someone monopoly money because if you give them real money they might think you forgot to go get them a gift..

Money is bad. It shows that you put absolutely no thought into the gift. All I have recieved for Christmas/my birthday for the last few years has been money, and while money is nice, I would much rather have at least some presents =/
As an alternative to just giving money, give a small gift with some money. This shows that you put at least some effort into it. Also, don't get clothes. People generally have enough clothes. And chances are they aren't going to want to wear whatever you get them anyway. |
