Working in Japan
I'm currently enrolled in an engineering school and I'm required next summer to get an internship as part of my formation. I recently found out that my school is a participating in Coop Japan; a Canadian association based in Vancouver which allows Japanese companies to hire students like me as interns. It's normally around 8 to 12 months long and I get to live in the company dormitory. Commute to work (by train and bus) is paid by the employer. I would make around 150,000 yen/month at best (depending on the job offer) . I'm currently studying in engineering physics so the job would mostly be centered around coding stuff, making prototypes and design shit like antennas for example (This information comes form past internships jobs description). I was wondering if any of you ever worked in Japan or had similar experience and if it would be a great idea to go work there. Tips, personal experience or bits of knowledge about Japan would be welcome.
Oh and in most cases, I'm not required to know a single word of Japanese in order to work there (at least that's what is written on the contracts). Reality might however be different, I don't know. Considering, that human ressources are, at best, evil, you can never be too certain lol. I am however required to take a class in order to learn before hand a little bit of the language which makes a lot of sense. Fun fact: English is my second language. So what do you guys think?
