Does anyone else use a high offset?
it's come to my attention that it's really fuckin weird that I use an offset of 14. I honestly have no idea what it is about my computer setup, but I need a high offset on both linux and windows
it doesn't really change how I play but it makes my replays look weird as fuck anyone else have a super high offset? if so, does it change when you use another computer? |

Re: Does anyone else use a high offset?
14 is about half a second, so yeah, that's pretty excessive. Maybe due to speaker delay if you're using external/powered speakers? Or if you're using a sometimes laggy audio server like pulseaudio, hard to say.
My global offset usually hovers around 6 when I play on Linux standalone because apparently its audio stuff is buggy - I use 1.5ish on the updated Flash inside Chrome, or on Windows/etc. And of course my judge offset is always high at 7~8 to counteract my 12x speedmod. I'd like to switch it up so that replays aren't sync'd to your offsets someday. Offsets are a superficial setting that don't need to be apparent in replays, everyone should be able to watch a replay normally regardless of the weird offset someone happened to be using when playing.

Re: Does anyone else use a high offset?
it's not speaker delay because I use the safe offset regardless if I'm using external speakers or headphones plugged directly into motherboard

Re: Does anyone else use a high offset?
In the end I wouldn't worry about it. The setting's there to make you feel comfortable, use it however you like. An update will come out at some point that makes the replay look less weird for everyone who watches it.
Judge offsets yo

Not ever changing my offset is probably one of the reasons I'm not good at FFR.
