Reformat, and never use Internet Explorer again. Make sure that whomever is viewing porn sites on your computer (popups like that are prevalent on such sites, I'm just saying..) uses whatever alternate webbrowser you decide to use.

yeah, somebody has been going to the wrong sites waaaaay too much. hell, i look at some iffy sites and i've never gotten crazy pop ups. if u really need certain material that bad just download things with bittorrent. it may be slower, but u can get alot better stuff and it's safer and trustier than Kazaa

No it's not from porn..I can view porn and not have any problems I've done it before..It JUST happened 3 days ago. My retarded sister installed Messenger Plus 3 and all sorts of shit and im wondering if it's that that caused problems and what not.

Ad aware 6.0
That will get almost all of it. Spybot also works, but the basic spybot IS spyware, and so that is a hassle. Get adaware, and 95% of your problems are over. Also, on Internet Explorer, go up to Tools and click Windows Update Check that every week. The Viruses are getting rampant right now, and the security holes are getting easier to exploit in a short amount of time. (My brother is the 2nd top virus expert at UCSD) |

Well, assuming you don't want to reformat the computer (probably the only real fix), just nuke the hell out of it =p.
This worked for some trojan virus's I got a while ago. Right click on 'My Computer' or whatever you called it, mines 'HAL' (Don't ask). Go to properties then the system restore tab. Check the tab saying to turn it off. Now hit the comp with ad-aware, norton, what have you. This stops things from comming back after you've killed them when you restart... usually, although I don't think this is really the case. Might as well try it. |

tell your "retarded sister" to gtfo and stay off the comp. wipe it clean again and then password protect the screensaver with something she'll never guess like "Moogy is mah friend" and set the screensaver to kick in after 1 minute. if it keeps messing up, then u know that it isnt her, at least

Check your services. (CTRL ALT DELETE) then to Task Manager. If you see anything that is not run by the system, but by your user name, then look at it closely. You can then test out by ending some of them. Your comp CAN RUN with only the system services and Explorer.exe as the only one started under your user name (you will also see Taskmgr.exe)

Try certain services to see which is the popups. Then wipe that file on the comp.

Well, we arent there to look at his computer, so we have to give him a method that doesn't take TOO much typing.

and make sure that Ad-Aware is updated.
if that doesnt work, take the cartridge out and blow in the bottom to clear the dust off of the connectors, and blow inside the comp. if it still wont work, or if the screen is random blocks, try putting the Game Genie on. sometimes its connectors work better than the games. if it still refuses to start, whack the comp a few times (GENTLY!). if THAT doesnt work, get ur NES-savvy mom to smack it. always worked for me
