Hands slippery
Anyone else's hands slip if they play a 8 and up song? Its really annoying and I can't play that well and I was wondering if anyone else's hands does that.

Re: Hands slippery
Honestly, yeah. Sometimes I'll be playing something and I'll accidentally hit "." instead of "l" and I'll get a miss.
Really pisses me off, especially when I'm whoring for an AAA/good score. |

Re: Hands slippery
What happens to me a lot is that the tips of my fingers are wet and sticky like they have lotion on them and then when I'm doing a fast file with very little breaks I can't change position or dry of my fingertips so yeah....... turns into a mess after

Re: Hands slippery
Haha, The cross-eyed thing happens to me when I'm playing while laying down, I think if you just play in a cold or cool environment then you won't have the slippery problems.

Re: Hands slippery
My biggest problem is that my hands sometimes go HERP DERP and freeze up when I'm doing well.
If you do that everytime you play an 8+ song that's pretty weird.

Re: Hands slippery
I've never missed the keys when playing spread. Not even sure how I would accomplish missing the keys if you never move your fingers away from being directly over each key.
However when I play index I will rarely hit the edge of a key and it can mess me up. Index at high speeds such as 260+ bpm 16ths can be quite dangerous. I remember back in 2005 I actually slipped and collided my index fingers and cut my index finger with my nail and bled on my keys. Stupid crossovers -_-; Now I cut my nails before I play. |

Re: Hands slippery
I have to keep my nails super short or I can't play right at all.

Re: Hands slippery
Nails should be short regardless but I agree shorter nails do feel better when playing.

Re: Hands slippery
I tend to let mine grow out. For jacking/vibrating I use my nails because they're a harder surface. Fingers slightly absorb impact, so nails usually make me vibrate a little faster

Re: Hands slippery
I slip up all the time especially on this keyboard. I'm not used to such a flat keyboard and I tend to end up on keys below my setup lol.

Re: Hands slippery
I tend to zone out so much so that I realize I can't focus on my screen (almost like blurry vision) but I'm still doing really well. As soon as I try to snap out of it and focus on the screen I hit a good or two.
I don't slip but I'm pretty sure I get occasional problems with what Dossar mentioned on trying to adjust finger position |

Re: Hands slippery
I very rarely slip, and it only really happens on songs that have fast and long streams.
Where I run into hand problems is on sections that go from a very fast roll/burst etc, (something that I have to play as a jump trill as fast as I can) and then go directly into a stream. After I get through the burst my fingers 'freeze up', and it's really hard for me to go back to hitting each note separately. This only really happens on parts where I actually have to trill as fast as I possibly can, though. |

Re: Hands slippery
I remember with my older keyboard when I would play it would VERY SLOWLY move up on my desk and eventually start to slip under the part of the desk where the monitor stands and I would either:
a)Wait for a break to bring it back to Its normal spot. b)Deal with it =/ |

Re: Hands slippery
It hasn't happened to me. I just choke during a run and mess up my combo. Not fun, no.

Re: Hands slippery
I don't slip often, but mainly I just miss stuff when its too fast for me to do.
Sometimes I'll get a random average or miss for realizing too late that there was an arrow there, or just losing focus. |
