Is playing DDR attractive?

I've heard opinions on both sides.

For:
- It shows skill
- It shows athleticism
- The "sweaty" look is sexy

Against:
- It shows nerdiness, or obsession
- Many focus on how it's not "real dancing" or "a real sport", and discredit it
- The "sweaty" look is disgusting

Among other things.
What do you think?

Whenever I've played DDR/ITG at an arcade, I've found that groups of girls will stand by and watch in awe, and guys will point and laugh.

Anyone who doesn't play DDR/ITG doesn't know the difference. Usually when someone is good at DDR, the steps aren't very fast but still impresses the hell outta spectators. I can't imagine ITG masters getting that much attention... from a distance it's hard to even see their feet moving considering they hold on to the back bar and hit the arrows with heels and toes without moving their legs. The more movement, the sexier. I voted no because no one goes to the arcade to get laid :l

Uh, some people will come over and be all like, wow hes gay hahahahaha. And others are like HOLY **** HES AMAZING, but idk about attractiveness.

In a sense of attracting people to watch, yes (obviously).

In the other sense, it kinda depends. Obviously a nerdy-looking person would probably get laughed at. For others, it kinda depends on the people watching.

There's nothing really terribly wrong in general that would be of any concern though, provided your playing style doesn't look very strange (really excessive arm flailing, playing on toes in a way that looks absolutely painful, etc.)

I'd say that it depends on what kind of people are around or what their background's are. For example, if a group of jocks come by they'll probably think you look like kind of an idiot, if a group of girls go by and even one is amazed, the others may look on also. (I dunno why, it just seems to me that if one girl in a group notices something she'll tell her friends and even if they don't think it's that cool they'll seem interested because they don't want to offend their friend.) In another example, if someone knows nothing about DDR or is kinda bad at it and you're good, they'll think you're amazing. If someone somewhat experienced goes by they may look on for a few seconds to check your mad skillz but then go about their own business. If you're kinda bad a lot of people would run by (In front of you, of course), yelling, "You suck!" I guess it all depends xD

theres other aspects within stomping versus heel toe versus etc etc

Truly, it depends on the player, the song, and the people watching. Overall, don't use it to get girls. Period.

It's really a varying situation. If the song is quite fast paced, the people will be amazed. I once saw a Chinese guy (Murr hurr, Singapore has a ton of them) playing double of DDR. I was pretty much blown away because he moved around and did it so well. Oh yeah, and that's the only time Chinese people open their eyes wide.

If you're like me and you play slow and suckishly, then you wouldn't be called attractive. I suck, even on Pump it Up.
