DS Homebrew?
Does anyone know anything about it? I'm pretty much clueless about it, but I'm looking to buy a slot-1 adapter / booting tool for someone as a gift and I want to buy one that will definitely work and isn't too hard to configure.
Any recommendations? |

I like using Colors! DS for drawing.
Also, here's a list of music-related software. http://remaincalm.org/index.php/ds-music-apps

Re: DS Homebrew?
I got something called max media player a long time ago. I don't know what else there is, and I haven't messed with it in a long time because I had no use for it and there wasn't much homebrew stuff made back when I got it.
edit: I just saw wikipedia about it, and it said that mine was one of the worst http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintend...torage_devices

Re: DS Homebrew?
I don't know any Homebrew Methods for DS. I only know how to for Wii. But now the Wii is unbrewable.

Re: DS Homebrew?
Oh, we're talking about that kind of homebrew
In that case, just get R4. |

Cyclo DS
I have one, and it's amazing. Everything is built in except for the micro-sd card you need for it. You can put media on it, download and play ROMs, save in real time, and adjust your background brightness in-game (a great battery saver). It's basically the last thing you'll ever need for your ds. http://www.cyclopsds.com/cgi-bin/cyclods/engine.pl Last edited by meno_rocks123; 05-18-2009 at 12:10 AM.. Reason: link |

Re: DS Homebrew?
All the R4 hate is totally unwarranted. I've had one for a while, and as long as you update the firmware when it comes out, you'll be perfectly fine. It's easy, it's cheap, and it works really well.

I've also only heard good things about R4, I've never had one myself but I've got a friend who loves his, don't have any experience with this M3 to compare it to though.

Re: DS Homebrew?
The R4 hadn't been supported for a while before the lawsuit. Doesn't matter though, since it's pretty compatible (and really cheap). But there are better cards, as that guy said.

Re: DS Homebrew?
I use an R4, and I haven't had problems. It works with all the games I've tried with it.
Currently I have played (offhand); Pokemon Platinum Worms Open Warfare 1 and 2 Two bomberman games N+ Mr. Driller (I suck at this game, but I still like it) several others. BTW: Here is the R4 Compatibility List. A lot of games have been tested, you can see, and according to the % list, over 92% work, 2% work with probs, a third of a percent don't work, and 5% remain untested. Chances are, you won't be playing one that has issues.

Re: DS Homebrew?
If you plan to get an R4, don't bother upgrading to 1.18, just get YSMenu as that is updated frequently and isn't discontinued. >_>
