He no go boom :o
Oh hey, Squeek, Obama lived. Woot. Who else saw the inauguration? We watched it in lunch and in class and in the halls and every other damn place.
You guys see that screw up at the beginning of the Oath? Just wait for the conspiracy theories. |

He didn't really screw up, conventions for things like "repeat after me's" usually stop after a name, Barack had it right...

Re: He no go boom :o
It was on the tv's in our cafeteria. That's about it I think. God my school is so unsupportive of politics. Which sucks because I really wanted to see it. =/
Another school in my district actually sent some kids to DC to film some of it. Then the whole school got to watch what they filmed during the last part of the school day.

Re: He no go boom :o
I saw it, and was pretty uninterested in everything involved that wasn't his speech. The poem was pretty bad imo, and that other guy that talk ended his speech with the single dumbest set of rhymes ever.
On the other hand, Obama's speech was very well delivered. It could have been a little stronger in his whole change emphasis that he had on the campaign trails, but other than that it was a great speech.

I seriously expected Obama to spontaneously combust as this thread suggests.

Re: He no go boom :o
I almost missed it, I got off the bus from college and barely had time to pop into my favorite pizza place to grab a slice and watch the speech. So basically what I learned today is that pizza and coke go great with speeches.
And yeah, I'm pretty sure it was Obama who flubbed it, not the guy leading him. He was probably nervous though, so it's hard to really blame him for it. Last edited by Tater Tot; 01-20-2009 at 06:27 PM.. |

Re: He no go boom :o
It appears Chief Justice Roberts messed up, not Obama. Read this.
I watched the live inauguration today in English; the online feed we used was horrible with lots of resetting and random quality glitches. I came home after that (no classes except for English and Ultimate Frisbee in the morning!) and watched the rest. I thought that the whole affair was pretty good; poetry lady sucked, Rick Warren didn't use divisive language, the one old black guy whose name I didn't get sounded awesome...and Obama's speech topped it. I really hope Obama is able to execute his promises effectively.

Re: He no go boom :o
I missed it on purpose.
Then I had to deal with highlights and live footage all afternoon from CNN. Also, 22 channels here? Were they all American stations?

I have no idea if they showed it here, not that we really need to watch it.
