GamerShadow (aka TwilightShade) Music and stuff
Short intro and such: I've always wanted to make music, but I suck at playing instruments, so I never thought it would be possible for me to. I researched it last year and made a song for a project, but it sucked.
Anyway, I've gotten back into making music after being lazy for a while, and am working on my first album, Under the Twilight Tree. Below is a link to one of the songs I finished, comments and votes and such would be nice. =) PS: All my music is made using Audacity and free sound clips I find from the internet. I do have a digital voice recorder, which I've used to record a few sounds of my own, but none are used as of yet. Links: Passage to the Afterlife Main Audio Page kk thanks

First, congrats on the new Bridget avvy. He's so cute. ^_^
Second, Passage to the Afterlife sounds like an intro to a larger piece instead of a work in and of itself. Like that one guy on the NG page mentioned, learn what all the different knobs do, and keep experimenting until you hit a combination you like. As it is now, your work is going to be restricted to quite bare-bones stuff until you gain confidence and throw in a few more elements. Above all, don't stop listening to what other people kick out for their music. As we writers are well aware, you never know where you might find inspiration from. |

Also, I forgot to ask in that review, what do you use to make music?

You're not going to get far with just Audacity.

I know that, haha. I downloaded Wavosaur recently, but haven't been working on music in the past few weeks.
And I'm hoping to someday get Reason, but I don't have a job and prom is coming up soon so that's a distant goal at the moment. D:

There's plenty of free daws out there that you can make great music with; you should take a look at the stickies. Buzz is definitely worth learning and some of the best FFR inhousers (see: Spookg, The Fat's Sabobah) use it.

Re: GamerShadow (aka TwilightShade) Music and stuff
I'm going to have to disagree with that. I've looked around a few wave editors and I think Audacity does a fine job of the majority of waveform editing at the excellent cost of nothing. I finally settled on FL's own Edison for my audio editing now, but I still use Audacity for a few jobs.
