[20000 credit giveaway] Recommend your favourite anime series to moi
I'll try to watch as many anime recommended here as possible, will give 20k credits to whoever came up with the anime I ended up liking the most.
despite having a fancy anime background of Nichijou, I actually haven't watched that many anime series, and I'm very picky when it comes to anime. I don't like slice-of-life type anime or anything that has no recurring story behind it. I'm into the action/drama, kinda dark stories that makes you watch every episode back to back because the suspense is too irresistible. Here's a few examples: Code geass R1/R2: my absolute favourite. probably a better ending that many movies I've seen in a long time Steins;gate: Also freaking amazing, Sword Art Online: Amazing as well, just got a little boring after SWA was replaced with that fairy crap Death Note: I enjoyed it as well, got a lil boring after Heard Mirai Nikki is also a good anime, should I give that a try maybe? seen full metal alchemist, kenshin, and clannad/clannad after story as well.

One piece?
A lot of my friends watch/have watched it, and I generally see it highly rated everywhere when anime is brought up.

go to hell.
Gonna go on a stretch and say Puella Magi Madoka Magica being 12 episodes long and 22 minutes each. It might also be called Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica but they're the same thing. not the movies, but the anime series. absolute mindfuck imo if you're into those crime case anime's like Code Geass & Death Note. idk. :d Last edited by gold stinger; 09-25-2013 at 12:02 AM.. |

Re: [20000 credit giveaway] Recommend your favourite anime series to moi
mirai nikki has a strong first half but completely takes a nosedive into shit for the ending
elfen lied is pretty much you watch it for exploding bodies haha blood everywhere must be so good series right !! samurai champloo is tight accel world was total shit and was a waste of time jesus christ I want my time back guilty crown is pretty much the most ground defying anime of the decade and that's not in a manner of light which can be passed off as acceptably good. in other words, if you want to bathe in shit, you watch this series eva might be an anime for it's time and decade but it's still over rated for its own good. still worth watching though cowboy bebop is a classic gurren lagann is the manliest anime you will ever watch srsly. you will go in as a prepubescent boy and finish the series as the next mr universe weightlifting champion another you watch for the ridiculous death scenes robotics;notes isn't up there with steins;gate god tier but at the very least it was better than the complete shit tier mess than was chaos;head. maybe a middle ground for both fate/zero is god tier. fate/stay night was shit but this series ascended into the heavens and left fate/stay in a bottomless pit never to be seen again angel beats is over rated and boring toradora is also over rated but it has its moments which gives it a pass welcome to the nhk is funny if you can relate to be an anti-social shut in protagonist hidamari sketch is the kind of series you leave playing in the background while you're busy talking away about life with a couple of broskis after a few drinks and a long tiring day and you're ready to pass the fuck out. watching it seriously is completely out of the question unless you enjoy watching an underage girl bathe at the end of every episode talking about how her day was afro samurai is okay but I'd rather watch samurai champloo instead flcl is something you watch when you want to click the add new anime to completed list on your myanimelist without having to think what you managed to absorb and take in from it serial experiments lain is weed. if you've never done drugs, this show pretty much simulates it. extra points if you watch this series while baked as fuc gunslinger girl you only watch if you're the kind of guy that finds it cute when underaged girls kill people higurashi insert another's reason here, although the ending of the second season completely took a 180 degree turn after climbing towards a climax. it's kinda like mirai nikki syndrome pretty much madoka is over rated garbage fuck shaft. it's worth the watch but it is in no way a generation defining anime aka eva last generation. also madoka is a blatantly poor ripoff of revolutionary girl utena and I already said somewhere up top that chaos;head is a complete, total train wreckage of a series. the first few episodes started off as an interesting concept but again the second half takes a nose dive and frankly it becomes an unwatchable abomination

You didn't say 5 centimeter's per second pat. I am ashamed of you
Also time to whip out my elitist anime E-d1ck Sometimes you will enjoy some REALLY terrible anime so I am going to post some here. Watch these with FFR and you will have a MUCH better time than watching something actually good. Valvrave the liberator (or valvrape the liberaper)- Holy crap is this anime bad. It is literally about illuminati space pirates that pilot gundams and shit. When you watch each episode you think there is no way it can get worse, but believe it or not it does, but god are the threads amazing. Guilty Crown- This anime pawns itself off with an anime that has plenty of potential which with designs by red juice and some nice production IG art you are right to be fooled. Then... well I am not going to spoil it for you but the threads for this anime are to DIE for. Shoe.... Oreshura (color wars)- It is well.. also pretty bad. Your going to like one girl and your friends are going to like other girls. Watching this will consist of arguments about how your girl is the best girl and that your friend can eat sh1t. looking at you chris. kono naka ni imouto ga iru (maybe kono imouto or most call it nakaimo)- Man this anime is just wow. Chances are you are going to laugh at how frekin absurd some of the things are. Sometimes you will be routing for a girl and sometimes you will say this anime is so bad while routing simutaneously. There is one scene in particular.... Oniai (long ass title)- Younger sister likes older brother. Some plot twists boobs everywhere its p.bad Campione- This is just an anime about kissing and gods and stuff. Literally the frekin guy breaks this girl's lip hymen like holy fak. FINALLY BEST ANIME TO WATCH WITH FRIENDS Highschool of the dead- I ended up watching this with Thai, Layne, and a friend when I visited toronto (mind you this is the second time I watched it.) Holy crabs this anime isn't so bad, but my god its hilarious. Like I know it wasn't trying to be funny but sometimes I just can't breathe watching it. It is recommended to watch it in English WITH OFFICIAL SUBS ON. for increased enjoyment.. 3

Re: [20000 credit giveaway] Recommend your favourite anime series to moi
series or movies I can recommend:
- kara no kyoukai movies confusing at first, but movies 5 and 7 are god tier and by then you should be able to make sense of it. also pretend that movie 6 doesn't exist because it was filler trash and nobody on the face of this planet likes kokutou's sister - psycho-pass sci-fi action thriller etc. thick and deep plot, tons of action, badass protagonist and antagonist, and character development make this fantastic - baccano! probably the series with the best character development I've seen. durarara is a few tiers underneath if you want to check that out too - katanagatari 12 episodes, each of them 40 minutes worth of dialogue. if you indulge in excellent dialogue and some action, this is a good choice. I'm pretty sure the average anime watcher would find this completely boring to watch though because they talk too fucking much and that's bad for people with short attention span - darker than black first season rules, second season is iffy and kinda sucks. it pretty much went downhill as soon as the protagonist succumbs to alcoholism in the second season - higashi no eden original plot, concept, characters, etc. this is an anime of its own kind that comes only once every few seasons. the downside is that it ends in a cliffhanger and is really only concluded by the dreadfully dry movies. worth the watch regardless and the movies if you can sit through it with caffeine to keep you awake - 5 centimeters per second you want scenery porn? you want a heartbreaking, bittersweet tear drenching love story? you want an emotional soundtrack? then this is for you. if by the end of this movie you feel confused or unsatisfactory, please take the time to absorb everything it offered and take away with you the various morals and themes it communicates. the average anime watcher isn't capable of understanding why this movie is truly beautiful and one of a kind—seriously, I've had said people come back to me after watching this telling me this had no merit to it, but then again these people watch anime that are nothing but fan service moe shit. if there is a movie out there than can make me, a stone cold motherfucker, cry, it's this one. - the garden of words / kotonoha no niwa by the same guy that directed 5cps and it's his newest movie too. you want the absolute best scenery porn in the market that's better than 5cps by tenfold? look no further. the love story in this is fucking cheesy and isn't anywhere close to being impactful. just watch this for the scenery porn and the god tier original soundtrack by kashiwa daisuke - panty and stocking with garterbelt do you want a completely fucking stupid anime that appeals to north americans but not japan? this series sold extremely poorly in the motherland japan, but it was pretty much a hit over here for westerners because of the references, parodies, and sex oriented humour that is pretty much what the powerpuff girls would be like if they were vulgar sluts raised by a pedophile african-american priest.

Re: [20000 credit giveaway] Recommend your favourite anime series to moi
So I have a pretty strong distaste (not a fan of 60%-75% of the anime [that I've watched anyway] recommended here lol, especially SAO/SnK/Madoka, my MAL average rating is 4.6x and it's probably lower if I could get into MAL because I haven't updated in months) for anime in general, but there are a couple that I really like, going to list them all I guess:
Saikano (Saishuu Heiki Kanojo) [8/10]: A girl confesses to a guy. Guy finds out that the girl is a weapon of mass destruction. Girl starts to lose her humanity and you watch them try to keep their relationship together. Might sound boring, but this anime really takes feels to a whole new level, it's probably one of the most depressing anime series I've ever watched. The first episode starts out fine... but then it goes ridiculously depressing from there. It's pretty dry during the middle of the anime (4-9), but the ending doesn't disappoint at all. Probably not really recommended if you're into tragedy-based anime, because this anime is arguably the epiphany of tragedy. Kotonoha no Kiwa [8/10]: Not an anime series, but a movie. Storyline is horrendously cheesy, but the soundtrack and the scenery/animation more than makes up for it. This is probably more of a personal taste more than anything but at times although I do feel that some parts are pretty boring, it is still very engaging and by the end of the movie my eyes probably jizzed a lot more than I anticipated the first time I watched it. Great Teacher Onizuka [9/10]: A lot less depressing than the one above, it's a classic. Lots of slapstick comedy here and there, had a couple of good laughs. Storyline is pretty effective though and although it is pretty emotional and dramatic, by the end of the day you'll be laughing and be applauding for the main character to the very end. Pretty rewatchable though, I'd say. 5 Centimeters Per Second [10/10]: The fucking best. Storyline is very subtle but very effective and relatable nonetheless. On the surface level, you might be like "eh, this is like a typical heart-breaking love story" and is just very cut and dry, but it really takes some time to delve in and absorb everything that's given to you. This is extremely bitter-sweet (especially the ending) and although the storyline doesn't sound all the interesting, the execution of it is perfect and I could not find any flaws in the storyline at all. It helps to have really good animation/scenery (albeit not as good as Kotonoha, but it's really good anyway) and probably one of the best soundtracks of any anime ever too I guess. Clannad/Clannad (After Story) didn't make shed a single tear, neither did Ano Hana or any other feelsy anime, maybe with the exception of Saikano. This thing made me have streams of tears fall down my cheeks. If I have to only pick one anime to watch and nothing else, it is definitely this one. Other recommendations would be Welcome to the NHK, Psycho-Pass (sounds like something that you would like, not a big fan of it but it's good to most people), Ghost in the Shell, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop and .hack since you're into SAO I guess. Steins;Gate is pretty much the best out of the entire Nitroplus+4pb series, so I'd recommend the movie and that's pretty much it. ChAoS;HeAd is a train wreck and Robotics;Notes isn't all that interesting, but it's not bad. Last edited by EzExZeRo7497; 09-25-2013 at 03:44 AM.. |
