Ocarina of Time for the N64. To this day, that is still my favorite video game of all time.

After the age of 4-5, I didn't play video games till I purchased a PS, then I abandoned that after THPS 2 cos 3 was pretty gay. Then I got an xbox when I was 22... //not a gamer~

Chrono Cross
Chrono Trigger Super Metroid (Funnest game ever, but not my favorite) Link to the Past Ocarina of Time Too bad I didn't play The Wind Waker during my childhood, it's my favorite Zelda game. Also Cave Story is another amazing game that wasn't from my childhood.

Totally forgot Tony Hawk pro skater 2, and omg Heart of Darkness I remember dying so many times in that game.
Resident Evil 1 i shit my pants when the first zombie turned around and looked at me, or when you open the doors behind you (when you first start), or running through the hall where the dogs jump out at you. |

Re: Best childhood game?
Come on let's get some more old school in here, and not just the games everyone lists either.
Adventure Island Air Fortress Amagon Abadox Bionic Commando Ninja Gaiden Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battletoads Rad Gravity Fantasy Zone Who Framed Roger Rabbit Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego? Commander Keen King's Quest King's Quest V Bubble Bobble The Black Cauldron Snake Rattle 'n Roll Jurassic Park Phantom 2040 Punch Out Back to the Future Gradius Life Force Hoops Super Bases Loaded Virtual Bart Bart's Nightmare Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues Yoshi Yoshi's Cookie Sneaky Snakes R.C. Pro-Am Paperboy 2 Bucky O'Hare Beetlejuice : Skeletons in the Closet Trog Tail's Adventure Kirby's Dream Course Kirby's Pinball Virtual Boy Wario Land Mario Clash Teleroboxer Tetris Blast Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle Oregon Trail Crystal Caves ^--Yeah, I have good taste in video games. Tons of other good ones. Let's see more like this and less generic Internet top-10 lists stuff. We all know Super Mario Bros, Metroid, Zelda, etc.. are good so let's see more variety. |

Re: Best childhood game?
Another good one that I left out a year ago was Jet Force Gemini. I might actually play that on an emulator later.

Really young child: Glover. First Platformer I ever played.
First game that I can remember being decent at (that I enjoyed): Sonic Mega Collection Plus (one of them)

Re: Best childhood game?
Glover was indeed fun and a tiny bit creepy but most of all, it was incredibly hard. At least, that's what 13 years old me said.

Re: Best childhood game?
Montezuma's revenge on the Master System marked me forever. It's still something I have nightmares about like 18 years later or something... Still I loved that game.
That, another ninja game on the MS that I've forgotten the name and that motorbike game you could play if you didn't put a cartridge in the Sega. Then I got hooked on the NES with an illegal cartridge containing something like 1000 games. So many I couldn't be bothered to give a **** to remember what I was playing except popeye and that train game. Then later titled that I hooked on were the first 3 sonics, any of the main Mario games on the SNES, Mario kart SNES (probably the one I've played that most on that console), Virtual Bart, NHL '96, Star Fox SNES, Lion King SNES, Wario Land on the Game Boy, Pokémon R/B/Y, Tetris, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, Super Smash Bros, Mario Party 2, Croc, Crash Bandicoot, JetMoto, Frogger, and some more that didn't leave a as big of a mark on me. Nope, no Zelda. Reason being I couldn't appreciate the game as much as I do today. LolEnglish was gibberish to me back then. I've learned lots of my English with Star Fox 64 though! But my true game as a child was probably Chess. I played Chess so many times from 6 years to like 15, omg...
