Re: Zenith's Arrows to Music Tournament!
Almost a week old score, that anti-competition intentional delay though

Re: Zenith's Arrows to Music Tournament!
I have to accept that score, but either today or tomorrow, if I don't completely close the thread, Gold Stinger should be back in time to finish the extension I gave him (literally up until today) to pull a Skunk :P
EDIT: Cleaning up spreadsheet right now, tallying up who will be receiving the prizes and I will be letting you guys know right now the requirements. In order to receive prizes, you must have completely 4 out of the 6 rounds of this tournament. Everyone who completed this will be awarded with participation credits and the winners.

Re: Zenith's Arrows to Music Tournament!
that's why it's nice to have a rule in place that says you need to submit your score within a couple hours of submitting (or something to that effect)
like, i'd have been pissed off to no end if krunky came in and ninja'ed a sdg on sleepmix or something. He'd have won it fair and square, but i would still have felt cheated out of it to some degree. whee

the alternative would have been prawn submitting his score when he got it, and the others feeling pressured to better their scores. (a.k.a. prawn being lazy) again, that's why maybe in the future, have a rule about posting scores at least reasonably within the timeframe that you got it in. otherwise, you have score snipes that leave a really sour taste in a lot of people's mouths |

Re: Zenith's Arrows to Music Tournament!
Indeed, I see the point and I will do that for future tournaments, it IS competition, but last minute intentional snipes is uncalled for :P

Re: Zenith's Arrows to Music Tournament!
'Cheated' .. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. I didn't post my score when I got it because I was not satisfied with it at all. You told us to get a score we are proud of, so I wanted my first score to set the tone for the rest of my improvements. Every day leading up to yesterday, I was getting teens scores with a frustrating amount of averages/misses to spoil my raw score.
But a big part of this you might be missing is the inside joke from psychoangel's tournament. On the last day, I decided to hold off not to avoid competition, but to perform an exact repeat of last tournament's showdown against MNIN in the final round. Everyone in D5B also participated in that tournament, so in the back of everyone's minds, this was thoroughly expected of me. |

Re: Zenith's Arrows to Music Tournament!
Thank you Zenith for hosting this tournament! Doing better on the Round 6 song than the Round 5 song seems to be a trademark anomaly whenever I participate in these kind of tournaments.
But I'll take any excuse to skillboost, and I always seem to keep surprising myself... Last edited by PrawnSkunk; 09-4-2014 at 02:01 PM.. |

i said cheating in reference to feeling like you've been cheated out of a win. There's a difference. also your reasoning is kinda bullshit lol i'm not sure why you're defending yourself also, thanks for the tourney zenith

Re: Zenith's Arrows to Music Tournament!
I felt the need to explain my motives because you seemed upset. Enforcing anti-sniping isn't something I have seen a whole lot of in tournaments, and it would be interesting to make it a mandatory measure to keep tournaments fun for everyone.

Re: Zenith's Arrows to Music Tournament!
lol in all reality im not mad about it. i still put effort into sleepmix even tho prawn hadn't posted and a better score probably wasnt going to happen regardless. (im pretty shit at sleepmix) I laughed pretty hard when I saw his score cuz absolutely hilarious.
Anyways, I'll take my second place, I was only ever in first place really due to my Great Battleship score, and Prawn was doing way better in the other rounds. Thanks for the tourney Zenith, it was fun. |

I have to give you props though, that score is sweet and I'd take the loss as a victory in the making. News About Credit Prizes I've been waiting for one last extension that is supposed to end today before I release winners and credits, so I'm pushing for 6pm server time before I release prizes. Does that sound good with everyone?
