Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
The issue that I had with Eternity was that the structure wasn't quite consistent. The heavy layering in the introduction of the file would have been acceptable, but the rest of the file didn't follow stride. So, I took a look at the file as a whole and attempted to figure out the patterning/structure of the file and pretty much came to a consensus that a lot of the layering was arbitrarily done (like lower, left-handed notes being accented as a jump when heavy chords with 3+ notes were a triple, as an example).
And Middie: a point isn't being docked anywhere. A file that accurately represents the music isn't going to be an automatic 10/10. There are many other judges that do the same thing. Some judges start at an 8/10, which I am completely fine with as well. As the judgment system states, 10/10 is reserved for flawless files, and the way a judge looks at a file will dictate whether or not your file is worth that elusive 10th point. Not everyone agrees with everything -- I gave Xiz's file a 10 for this batch, but the other two judges gave it a 6/7.5 (with one supplying perfectly acceptable notes). You really have to learn to calm down and actually attempt to improve yourself, rather than throwing an outright fit. You can't sit here and call "rejudge" when you have received legitimate notes that aren't just one-liners. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Middie you need to take a step or two(or three or four) back and breathe. You get mad over any little disagreement someone you dont like has with your file like as if they were doing it on purpose to you and just to you. now before you go and throw a bitch fit and put me up higher on the list of people who you think are out to get you realize that i have no problem with you at all what so ever as a person or as a stepfile artist. what i do have a problem with is your attitude when it comes to anything file related. it was funny at first but now its just sad, annoying, and uncalled for.
also i dont side with anyone when it comes to judging so dont think my notes are in any way influenced by what dossar and halogen said. Eternity - 20.164 just leave this as a jump there is no reason to accent anything in easy files. remove all the hands and leave them as jumps. they felt out of place the entire time. you can achieve a similar effect to hands by simply leading into the jumps with a jack or leaving the jump with a jack. either would work just as well as the hands but without the awkness of the hands actually being there. 6.5/10 shade - Same thing as Eterntiy when it comes to accent and hand usage. just remove them. For the beginning where you have the melody playing it would be better if you stepped that until 22.9 layering in the choir and the snare. it would reduce the repetitiveness of the entire file and it would make for a better intro than what you have now. 6.5/10 Nekomimi Switch - change the 16th gallops to either 123 432 rolls because they would be easier to hit and would flow better. the only suggestion i have with this file is that during the single note sections you layer in every other snare so it feels more full than what you have now. other than that though i think this is the best out of the three files by far. 8/10

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
See? Everyone has their own opinions on files -- no one is out to get him. Carlos' post of reviews indicates that he thinks that Nekomimi Switch is the best of the three files, whereas I think Shade is the best of the three files (both with 8 point ratings). None of the three files really struck a chord with Dossar, but all three ratings were [+.] ratings. He provided notes that, given the chart, make complete sense.
EDIT: also, thank you for posting those notes, Carlos -- at least he can see that there are issues with his files and that he's not a simfiling god being shafted by "ignorant" judges, lol Last edited by TC_Halogen; 07-3-2013 at 10:43 AM.. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
lemme preface this by saying I fully appreciate the detailed effort Dossar puts forth in his notes, but tbh I do feel he doesn't give enough respect to stepartist's conscious decisions within a file (aka his notes are on the subjective side~), but that honestly might just be a byproduct of him having a very analytical approach to this game unlike the vast majority of this site's playerbase~ (correct me if I'm wrong~)
again, not calling him out, I appreciate his effort. Just my 2¢~

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2
Taking FFR Pro's idea a step further... I think we should have a contest to restep/sync all the legacy files for a "legacy batch" and then make the old songs the token files, not the other way around.
