Scored 13 assuming this is the same test from the other thread (looks like it).

I am honestly surprised

if anyone has a similar score to mine, let me know; I'd like to see how this manifests in forum personalities

the average is 16.5 so by definition you're abnormal, just in a different direction

I wonder, for anybody that scores below the average, how they'd do on a test to see if they were a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) (I expect they'd test low on this as well)

I feel like anybody who finds it -so- easy to interact socially and be involved in groups and communicate must also not be overly empathetic either, or the input would just overload them.

@devonin

the HSP test is more like affective empathy. I have high cognitive empathy ability and can have high affective empathy if I need to, but I also have the ability to completely shut down my responses to affective empathy emotions as you could gather from my anecdotes in that life story thread.

thankfully the times I have done this have (mostly) been unintentional; I would do it specifically when I felt like some ethical principle was being threatened, but after enough instances of this I recognized what I was doing and prevented myself from de-empathizing

but yeah, if for some reason I'm ever cornered emotionally (e.g. "look at how threatening he's being") I can throttle this by manipulating my disgust response / hate response to something ("do you fucking seriously think this is threatening you fucking idiot, you have the worst criteria for this shit ever" is what I feel reflexively), then making the hate response internal (i.e. you still feel it but you're not visibly mad, you look like you're being contemplative), then using breathing techniques to calm myself down and projecting positivity over it ("joe, I love you bro, no threats here <3"). but when I do this I still have that very subtle ambient layer of anger fucking with my ability to be empathetic toward that person

Agree: 2,4,5,6,12,13,16,22,23,26,43,46: 1 point
Disagree: 8,11,17,25,34,38,40,44,47,49,50: 1 point
Score: 23

Hmm, very borderline on everything really.
