Charley
Going to make a thread dedicated to one of my pets, like Spenner did with his pet rabbit (Hopper).
Meet Charley, a German Pomeranian poodle, which my family received in 2006. I remember my father having me wake up (for school) to him holding this little black puppy. My brother and I have been wanting a dog for about a month before. He was about a few months old at the time when we got him, his birthday being in the same month as mine, February. The day I got home from school that day, I allowed for him to nap alongside me. I won't forget that day when we first got him. Fast forward a year, my father bought him his first toy to chew on. It was a boomerang sort of, with squeakers on each end. Looked like this, except yellow: We would play fetch with it a lot, him getting stubborn when he didn't want to give it up for me to throw again. Sadly, it started getting worn out about a month later, which is about when one of the squeakers couldn't function. The toy was kept for about more than a year before we had to throw it out when all 3 squeakers were massacred. We tried getting him different chew toys but he favored that boomerang one a lot. We would also go outside for a little exercise, of which I would try and run away from him in the backyard just so he can chase me. He was quite fast. He seemed to favor my father more. I'd want to play with him, try and pick him up but he would snap at me and bite. He even gave me a scar on my upper lip, which was my fault for being stupid. He became more of a bother since high school started for me, he would always bark at me whenever I got home from school and I would have to put him in my bedroom just to shut him up. Sigh... every single day. But, that's how poodles usually are I suppose. Didn't really stop me from disliking him though. Even my mother and brother started hating him. Fast forward again, 3 days ago I walked him outside so he could do his business. However, something was wrong with him... he wasn't really energetic, not even content at all. He had quite a sad look on his face, he wanted to lie down on the ground when I tried walking him and he wouldn't get up when I told him to. He looked very tired and weak. So, once we got back inside the house I put him in his little bed and put his bowl of food near him and left him alone. I wish I hadn't done that... I should have took him to a vet that day. 3 o' clock in the morning on June 11th, I woke up to the sound of my brother calling my mom saying that Charley might be dead. We found him under one of the dining room chairs, lying down with his eyes and mouth slightly open. Called for him to get up but, he wasn't moving. I felt his chest to check for his heart but, he was cold and limp. Didn't take a second for me to realize, he truly is gone. He had quite a few more years on him, being only 7 years old. We don't know what might have been the cause of his death. We wrapped him in a sheet, placed him in a shoe box and put in a couple Milkbones (he loved those) as a blessing. Went to a store of which we picked out a couple stuff for his headstone, painted and placed in the ground. He was a yappy, feisty little dog, but our family still loved him dearly and will miss him a bunch. R.I.P. Charley 2006 - 2013

Re: Charley
i never got to spend that much time with my puppy "bleu". She had heterochromia and was so fxcking special to me. I only got to spend about a year with her until my family finally decided that they couldn't handle all the chewed cables outside and so, of she went in the back of my uncle's pickup truck to alice. I never saw her again but man... I wish I could have seen her one more time
Sorry for your loss Alex.

Re: Charley
I'm so sorry for your loss... my sister's boyfriend lost his dog about a year ago and it put him in a deep depression. Losing a beloved pet is just as bad as losing a close friend.
